So first, Susan sang "I Dreamed a Dream" for her initial performance, which was the first video to go viral. For the semi-finals she sang "Memory" from *Cats*.

Meanwhile, prior recordings Boyle has made are turning up online, such as "Cry Me a River":

With Elaine Paige, the original Grizabella in London, showing interest in singing a duet with Susan, I doubt this will be the only song we hear from this gutsy gal.
As the judge said, Susan Boyle should be a real wake-up call to your cynicism.
Thats why dance groups are better...
anyway, rker321, after the recession the great flood of boyle cds/performances that drown everyone else? lets hope not
Please come to California, we will adore you, give you respect.
Susan nunca dejes de cantar... el mundo te quiere
She has awakened within us an enlivening of the dreams we have all dreamed within ourselves that can only be made reality with tenacity, faith and discipline.
Each of us have had our own trials in life that have overwhelmed us.
Tonight, through Susan, we rejoice in knowing we can make it trough our trials and keep looking ahead to brighter days through the encouragement and compassion we can give to one another.
For all the kindness and love she gave to her ailing mother, I am sure her mother is looking down from heaven with the same tremendous gladness in her soul that Susan has given to each of our own spirits.
May we all, through Susan, be inspired to help one another make our dreams our realities.

How anyone won over you just shows that marketing is more imporatant than shear talent.
I live in Calgary Alberta Canada and in one point in my life won the Royal Conservatory of Music for Canada for voice so I do know extreme singing talent when I hear it.
You have one of the most powerful voices I have ever heard in my life aong with perfect pitch.
You should have won this evening but unfortunately most people wouldn't recognize true talenet if it slapped them in the face.
I am confident even though you didn't win this two bit contest people know that you are the most truly talented person and will do even better than if you had actually come in first.
I am confident you will fullfil your dream and become a truly respected professioal singer.
Take care and I hope some time we will meet in the fruture.,
Max
Although you did not win the talent show tonight, I think that you have won far more than anyone realizes today. Not only do I believe that Simon was right in his comments, but I do believe that your mother was smiling down on you today as you "Dreamed a Dream" may that dream come true for you, I hope that the Queen will invite you to sing, if not look up our President here in the US, I am sure we would be honored to have you perform in the White House. Best of luck to you and keep on "Dreaming that dream.
I think you have a fabulous singing voice; the kind I have always wished I had. I am so thrilled that you did so well on Britain's Got Talent, but I am even more thrilled that you were able to share your beautiful God-given talent with all of the world. Cherish that talent and continue to share it will all of us. We are proud of you in the United States too!!!

Wait and see Susan Boyle in the future singing to the rest of the world, who loves and appreciates her!!!!
I am a firm believer in "God's Will" in the lives of His children. I feel he is leading, guiding, directing and watching you as you perform. He gave you the magnificent voice, and He will see that it is used in a way to give Glory to Him first, to your great country Scotland/Great Britain and it will give you peace as you use it to cheer and comfort those who are fortunate enough to hear you sing. You certainly have been a blessing to my life and I congratulate you and wish you well. Continue to follow your dream!
She had nothing to lose the 1st time. She knew she had the voice to blow us away--and she did. The 2nd time, she had everything to lose. She didn't blow it completely with Memories, but it was a weak, nervous, sad performance. There were moments when her voice soared as in the first performance, but they were fleeting. And still she made the finals.
I couldn't even watch the 3rd performance because I was so disappointed that she sang the same song as the first time. She was unworthy of that cop out. There are dozens of songs she could have done justice. But Susan Boyle is from a little place in a collection of villages, and she'd spent much of her adult life isolated there, caring for her ailing mother. What could possibly have prepared her for the outpouring after that 1st performance? Or for the inevitable mean spirited backlash that followed.
Keep going, Susan.
happiness for you; ANGLES are truly real and I seen it through your soul. When I meet Our
maker some day I truly hope to hear your voice as I go through pearlly gates in Heaven, God Bless you, with all my love David Farley Long Beach Ca

Go, Susan!
IF I PUT THE SOUND UP TO AS HIGH AS IT CAN BE ON MY COMPUTER, I SING ALONG WITH SUSAN AND MY VOICE IS BEAUTIFUL THEN......I CANNOT EXPLAIN WHY. SHE TOUCHED SOMETHING IN MY HEART THAT I DID NOT KNOW WAS THERE.
In listening to that recording of "Cry me a River" I didn't notice her rushing. Maybe it was because she had a producer guiding her through it. I love studio recordings, even more than live ones, because they pay so much attention to detail - time, intonation, dynamics, improv, etc. It's the ultimate. Live is so hard to deal with. I'd guess that she was very nervous, though, in the live performance. And maybe the judges realized that. She's so musical, also, that she's not quite ready to deal with the crazy media world. That's OK though. She just needs a super agent that understands that, and works with her. Often times, the most talented singers are a bit "off" when it comes to dealing with other things. That's the price you pay for talent. It's not free. If it was that easy, everyone would do it. Great agents realize this and make accommodations. Rarely does someone come along with the whole package. Al Jarreau and Michael Jackson are examples of the "whole package" though even those guys needed to be guided.
But what's beautiful about music is the struggle. Everyone's struggling for greatness, and nobody ever quite achieves it. That's what magical - the never-ending search for perfection.
