Mashable - The Social Media Guide: Statuzer: A New Alternative to TweetDeck and Seesmic Desktop?

I still prefer Tweetie for Mac + Tweetie for iPhone. Power combination!

Agree. Though they need to add saved searches and Facebook integration.

Question: I have only tried TweetDeck, and I would like to know which one of these two is less resources consumer: TweetDeck or Seesmic Desktop, thanks... @ahvega

I recommend DestroyTwitter. Best by a long shot!

I keep hearing the same thing. I think I'm going to give DestroyTwitter a shot. Thanks Will.

I really think DestroyTwitter has to be mentioned as well in this context. Very impressive work by a very impressive guy, Jonnie Hallman.

Not sure what you mean by the Custom color thing.. My Tweetdeck has had the ability to customize colors since I first started using it back in the fall of 2008.

TweetDeck plugged the memory leak, so it gives back resources when you quit it and doesn't dribble away memory while you're using it, but it is still a RAM hog. Currently my TweetDeck is sucking 125,976 K of RAM. The only things consuming more are FireFox and Second Life.

DestroyTwitter (stupid name) is more resource friendly, but the interface is not sufficient. You can't enlarge the window to fill the screen (you can enlarge it but a limited amount) and it doesn't show columns of streams ... it's swaps them out as you search. What I want is a full-screen non-animated row of updating columns and that's what TweetDeck is good at. So despite the memory grab, it's still the winner.

Only thing annoying me right now is that filters don't carry over, you have to reset them each time (dumb). Now that that in-world spammer is flooding the Twitter stream with automated announcements of his gaming venue every time someone wins something you have to filter him out of the "Second Life" search. Pain.

If the fascination towards Adobe AIR apps is not ending any time soon, here are some more AIR based apps for Twitter http://twitdom.com/tag/adobe-air

I hate Adobe Air apps. Best twitter interface right now is Tweetie, though still waiting for it to support saved searches and toggling of Facebook updates.

is there a way to synchronize the groups/list between the different computers? Using 3 computers regularly and would love not to have to redo the same work all the time...

I prefer http://www.coderanger.com/twitcher/ (@realtwitcher), nice and simple with less of the redraw bugs that Statutizer seems to suffer from and many of nice features like short URL expansion, keyboard navigation ... he seems to be updating it regularly as well which is nice

Problem with Air apps is it's not supported with all platforms. iTweet.net and Twittergrid support more systems than any Air app could ever imagine.
