-
swag · 2 months agoGolly gee wiz. We're now using $300 phones and single-purpose installed applications to emulate what basic mobile phones could do with vending machines in Scandinavia since 2004.
-
Chupartribra · 2 months agoComments like this are so annoying. If you were browsing a outdoor sporting site and reviewing an amazing new climbing innovation, would you dismiss it with "now we're spending hundreds to do what our ape ancestors could do for free millions of years ago"?
-

-
coffeemarketing · 2 months agoAs mentioned in the article the key to this will be when you can preorder your coffee, especially when combined with a feature that allows you to easily co-ordinate a coffee meeting with friends or colleagues. At present it still doesn't add that much value, as I for one dont see how making up your order on the iphone and showing it to the barrista is any quicker than telling them.

-
brad · 2 months agoOld. They're lazy for not launching this back idk 2 years ago.
-
slrbo · 2 months agoLooks cool. but the drink builder doesn't do me much good without being able to actually place an order. Check out the Chipotle app (http://bit.ly/v8bIb) -- it lets you actually configure, order and pay -- way cooler.

Craig Prater · 2 months agoThis is great. Now, if they'd just implement Alletronic and let me get my receipts from Starbucks on my iPhone, THEN they'd have something.
-
deestewart · 2 months agoI wish I used Starbucks more so I could really enjoy cool apps like these. But I hate coffee and their smoothies aren't too great...
-
portlandsuz · 2 months agoWhy doesn't Starbucks allow the IPhone apps to order and pay for drinks while you're on the go? Like a GPS in your car, bike or backpack could track how close you are to the store, and trigger the barista to make your drink so it would be smoking hot for you. Then there could be a 'pick up section' in Starbucks that opens up with a bar code - like Fandango for movies and presto - your smoking hot, pre-paid triple shot white mocha :)
