Mashable - The Social Media Guide: Socializr Lets You View Events From Multiple Social Sites

  • JessieX · 7 months ago
Along with some friends, I started using Socializr a couple years back. We use it inside of a local community where many events/people attending overlap. I've never thought it to be a perfect product, but I have always found their development team responsive, curious and open: a big plus for me.

I think there is value in focusing on one event tool inside a community of people, yet, as we're not (thankfully) living inside a dictatorial country, people are at choice as to what tools they use for events. I look forward to learning more about / experiencing this new integration. And thanks for reporting on it.

I must get a half-dozen requests for different events on Facebook. I'm quite satisfied with having one service that can connect me to the masses and keep track of said events. Until there is a killer service associated with this site, I'll pass.

Looks pretty neat. I'm looking for someone to develop a home page (much like iGoogle) that'll allow one to see, participate on, and manage all social sites from one location - too many mouse clicks and log-ons are tiresome to the ol' digits!

Better yet, how about Facebook, Myspace, etc. allowing me to BLOCK event invitations from anything outside my 10 mile radius/self imposed limit? Now, that would be useful!

Playing with this now...it could solve a lot of my scheduling/calendar integration issues.

It is for USA users only, not so helpful to us international folk...

This looks like it could be a real timesaver. Only time will tell I guess...

THANKS, jennifer. it is FANTASTIC. i have been looking for an all-in-one calendar for social events that my friends from all networks can access. purely for the LOVE of discovering new adventures & living life to the fullest, i am constantly diving into different activities, but have had a bit of trouble giving ALL my friends a heads up. they end up missing out & i end up saying, "sorry. i thought you knew." LOL. i really needed exactly this. i have been talking about wanting something like this app for weeks. it's all about "ask & you shall receive" -- theme of my life! ROCK ON!

i previously thought the site felt clumsy, but maybe with all this even (and pic!) aggregation i will try again and socializr will be seen to have finally arrived - http://web-poet.com/2009/04/16/socializr/

If you're looking to promote events (like you would inside Facebook or via Twitter), you should check out http://www.playster.org. You can add events directly into the search index and traffic gets sent to your site or blog.

    Enjoy!
