Thanks for posting! I hate falling for misinformation. Usually Twitter is a great source, but the Sara Palin Divorce story spread so quickly through (with a link to a "real" story), that I took the rumor to be news, not fiction. It's nice to have a reliable source like Mashable.com to help sift through the noise and information!

Actually, the Alaska Report was the first to correctly report quite a few happenings in the Sarah Palin chronicles, such as her being picked to be McCain's VP candidate - and who would have ever believed that? Yet, it was true. I'd give this story more time. There's something fishy going on with that woman, mean media or not.
"Debunked"? Not by a long shot. Denied? Yes. True? We'll have to see. Keep in mind that there news bureaus in both Washington and New York got wind of the story late yesterday, and one of the bloggers reporting the rumor says (s)he has _three_ sources, all of whom will be "burned" should the rumor not be true.
In my not so humble opinion, the more explosive claim in the priginal blog post is that Levi Johnston has said that Todd Palin pulled a gun on him. That's a felony in Alaska. If my wife did that to someone, I'd be prone to file for divorce myself.
Meanwhile, keep in mind that old adage, as spoken in the entertaining book 'Barbarian at the Gates': "A rumor's just a premature fact."

Palin’s resignation obviously puts yet more pressure on Obama to finally get some results, as the soaring rhetoric isn’t hypnotizing the plebes like it used to... and now there's another viable alternative waiting in the wings.

And you know, there's nothing anyone can do to convince these folks. You could hand them, in person, the original birth certificate --- with the placenta --- and have a video of Obama emerging from the womb with Don Ho singing in the background ... and they still would not believe it.
Hey birthers, want to hear my theory? My theory is Obama was born in America and you were born with the umbilical cord around your neck. I don't know what his mother was doing when she was pregnant, but I'm pretty sure yours was drinking.
Oh, I kid the birthers, and actually there is one thing that makes me think they could be right. We're Americans, of course we're going to hire an illegal alien to clean up.
I'm joking of course. And laughing it off has also been the reaction of Democratic leaders so far, proving that Democrats never learn. Denying or debunking via Facebook (such a wonderful source of hard news full of trained journalists!) is hardly making it plausible. Maybe it is to the Palin addicts who live on the site, I guess. To set one record straight, liberals are not afraid of this woman! We dislike her because she is a narcissistic liar. She lied in her first national speech, and kept it up. How can you people support someone who says she's this wonderful Christian, yet stands on a stage and tries to destroy a man's character; a man she had never even met? A woman who brags about not aborting her child, yet when she went into labor with him, finished a speech in Texas, got on a plane, had a layover in Seattle, all the while leaking fluid. Then she got on another plane to Alaska, got in a car, and drove 45 minutes to the preferred hospital, all reportedly so dear Trig could be born on Alaskan soil (so he qualified for the oil money?) She delayed the birth 9 hours, with her 5th child! That baby could have died. These are not the actions of a caring mother. Seriously. Then to drag him on and off planes for 4 months, as well as keep her girls out of school, looks like a woman who is so ambitious she puts her family second. Scared of her? Never. To set one record straight, liberals are not afraid of this woman! We dislike her because she is a narcissistic liar. She lied in her first national speech, and kept it up. How can you people support someone who says she's this wonderful Christian, yet stands on a stage and tries to destroy a man's character; a man she had never even met? A woman who brags about not aborting her child, yet when she went into labor with him, finished a speech in Texas, got on a plane, had a layover in Seattle, all the while leaking fluid. Then she got on another plane to Alaska, got in a car, and drove 45 minutes to the preferred hospital, all reportedly so dear Trig could be born on Alaskan soil (so he qualified for the oil money?) She delayed the birth 9 hours, with her 5th child! That baby could have died. These are not the actions of a caring mother. Seriously. Then to drag him on and off planes for 4 months, as well as keep her girls out of school, looks like a woman who is so ambitious she puts her family second.
