Cant say I am sad to see 4chan get it, but this ONLY opens the door to ISP's exerting more control on what ppl can and cannot see (i.e. your cable provider doesn't like you watching streaming movies b/c they think it interferes with you watching TV, so youtube, netflix and whatever else get blocked...). Think about it, if AT&T gets away with this, then it is only the beginning...
We're covering it at ED [Mashable's best wiki winner 2008!] with a list of geographies affected, customer service numbers and other information. ED is not SFW.
From 'Leave it to Beaver'
"Ward, don't you think you were a little hard on the beaver last night."! AWC!
moot is too lazy to bother thinking about this, much less doing it
couldn't help but let out a little lmao over here
And /b/ doesn't work.
There's proof.
I'm so tired of AT&T and changing their laws all of the fucking time.

Some seem to think that it may have to do with people posting child pornography on /b/ as this would be the most likely reason for the mass scale of the blocking. (CP is against 4chan's ToS and response from moderators are usually swift.) Others seem to think that maybe AT&T doesn't think that 4chan's response is good enough and yet others think that AT&T believes that /b/ is part of a "pedophile ring". Another more recent conclusion is that AT&T may have temporarily blocked access to the site to head off a Distributed Denial of Service of 4chan (which has been happening on and off the past month).
The response from 4chaners seems to be a push to unblock by legal means: http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/AT%26T_Blo... (Link potentially NSFW as it is ED) Of course it's possible that few will do things via illegal means such as DDoS and black faxes.
In end though I hope the block gets lifted as it simply does not make sense for a permanent block.

go.
Edit: Didn't realize it wasn't the main page that was blocked. I can get to the main page, but not the img.4chan.org. it just times out. Not sure if that's actually *blocking* more as AT&T messing with routes.
Couldn't happen to a moar deserving fascist, treasonous company.
It doesn't bug me so much that 4chan is blocked, as the fact that they're censoring my internet.
I am paying for access to whatever I like on the internet, not just the parts that AT&T arbitrarily deems OK for viewing. I am now VERY strongly inclined to switch to Cox cable.
WTH??
they're being fags.
fucking bloody hell
