Don't like it one bit. This ranks up there with the @replies fiasco. They've now taken the two main features that users came up with and destroyed the greatest value that each of them had.

I HATE it... I don't like seeing people I'm not following in my twitter stream and having no clue where it came from or why.. I agree with Benjamin, it takes away a lot of the re-tweet experience... like, all of it..

For reasons I've expressed already, I don't like it. It removes the retweeter's personality from the retweet. Using the old method, the simple act of retweeting would add to the original tweet. In the new method, you're left with the original tweet, as it was originally tweeted. Not to mention the confusion at seeing an unfamiliar face in your twitter feed.

From all reports I've seen, you will not be able to tweak; the tweet will appear exactly as it did in the original, and (on the website at least) it will be followed by the names & avatars of up to 100 people who tweeted it. See http://bit.ly/Iwfeh

The original tweeter will be the "source," so there is no need to add the person's username to the tweet. (This will also give the impression that people you do not follow are suddenly showing up in your stream.)

Same here. I have no idea how it will actually work. For instance in my client of choice (Tweetie), will I suddenly just start seeing Tweets from people I don't follow? Will it be indicated who retweeted them? Will you be able to add comments to your retweets?

I'm lost.

So what happens if I tweak a RT? Often I have to take out some words or otherwise condense the original Tweet to fit it into the stream with the RT credit added to it.
