Good stuff - but my Tip #7 is try Slacker. For my music tastes (Adult Alt, Indie, Alt Country, Jazz), Slacker has a better selection it seems. I went back and forth between each for a while and I kept coming back to Slacker.

I hate Pandora because it i can't pick what i listen to. It's great for discovering new music sometimes but i prefer http://www.flybymusic.com. You can actually pick what you listen to AND it gives you a related section that works similiar to Pandora. Love it!

Very good tips, but here in UK "Pandora" is "deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S." - bollocks...

Gee, imagine my surprise! I thought Pandora was something fake when I heard it on a Sprint commercial. I am such a dinosaur!

Hey, I'd honestly never heard of "Pandora" before I read this, but it sounds like a great way to find new music. I'll have to try it out myself!

I'm always trying to encourage people to listen to new music, it can be so inspiring, and I think sometimes people need articles like this to try out listening to new musicians (which can ultimately lead to new genres).
