Actually Facebook was a *very close* fourth in its category. There were very few votes splitting them from the others.

Surprised that Facebook didn't make it but it's probably because users didn't know about the awards or Facebook didn't advertise it.
Happy to see Polyvore on the list though. An awesome place to tweak and refine your design and styling skills.

It occurs to me that some sites might be down because they weren't ready for the attention (and increased traffic) of getting into the Final Round...but then, only Mashable can say how much total referral traffic they're generating now. :)

Many of these sites have no traffic - and a couple are down (404).

So how are the votes decided? Was spamming controlled.
