Ralph
www.tabup.com a great place to have a conversation.
P.S. Can't wait to read your CNN blog, Pete. You'll be reaching a somewhat different audience than at Mashable.com, of course, many of whom are hesitant to get into Social Networking. Bravo for CNN hiring the perfect person to enlighten its Web audience.
But it's the same amount of headline links as they had before on the left side.
I think mainstream media is truly dead...
And it's still CNN.
Mashable, your CNN website screenshot colors look weird in Firefox and Safari on Windows.

Talk about a great resource!
I think it's great that there is separate section for 'Video,' and more to view.
I like the personaliztion of the content, but it seems like a repeat of the 'sections' section. Need to peruse it more ...
Overall, I like the use of color and crispness.
CNN really need to change to attract more and more visitors.
by the way,the new look of CNN is pretty good
For me, it has stopped becoming a news source that visit regularly to learn the news. Instead, I use it as a go-to source for breaking news and election results because they do a fine job in that department. Otherwise, I have no desire to read or watch any of their bland stories. Simply gussying up a bland article that I could read into a video is not going to make it more appealing.
For illustration, here are some of the top news stories appearing on the site and why the redesign isn't going to make it better:
Cornwell's Scarpetta gets a BlackBerry
Jackson's last great performance
Dog teaches children to read
Singer Morrissey collapses on stage
Andrew Lloyd Webber has cancer
Jackson colleagues: Movie an 'honor project'
the CNN on red also reminds me of the Canadian railway CN. haha.
I like the look in general.
It looks far less authoritative in my opinion.
Thank you.
2. Videos on front page too big and fonts too small.
3. No choice in picking videos to watch; I don't want to "useless news".
4. Useless News= celebrities; reporters/anchors putting self in news and talking about themselves; promoting their book, looks like infomercials. (any reason Gupta has to have 4-5 pictures of him on Health page?)
5. CNN=RNN- Repeat News Network; repeats same stories over and over...sometimes the title is changed, but it is the same story or a different reporter covers the same story.
6. CNN=BNN- on weekends it has black reporters covering black stories; Tie ins w/Oprah and Black Essence.
7. CNN- prefers hiring foreign born reporters/anchors (don't make me name them and I have nothing against them!). I guess they like to outsource because they can't find qualified U.S. citizens.
8. CNN- mostly has men on the panels; Where are the Women?
9. CNN- has more stories on Hong Kong, S. Korea, China, and India. WHY? (and usually useless news)
10. Where are the stories closer to home?
11. Use firefox w/addons- adblock plus, ghostery, flagfox, trackerwatcher, ie tab-to use ie thru ff to get rid of most advertising.
I've been trying but the SignUp dialogue goes nowhere ...
However, what's up with the automatic scrolling and huge banner ads?
They expand/contract and tend to push the landing page around while you're reading.
Annoying.
