With all due respect I'm guessing you might work on the design team at facebook that came up with the 2.0 profile idea. Other than that I don't see how you can possibly love 2.0. I am just thankful that Sunny was had posted a blog on how to get back to 1.0. I found 2.0 not to be a workable option at all. Anyways... even if you don't work for facebook, I guess at least one person likes 2.0. For me it didn't work at all. :-)

Hi,

The freedom and chaos of Myspace is exactly what I love about Myspace. Spam is a small price to pay for freedom. Facebook is great, but not very diverse... and too many rules for me to really get passionate about it.

And yes... tens of millions of people still use Myspace... so fed up with the Myspace haters. Some use Myspace. Some use Facebook. Some use both for different reasons.

hey thanks for posting the directions to get back to 1.0--i thought i could click on the 2.0 and check it out to see if i wanted it and that it wouldnt change unless i clicked the publish button but yeah as soon as i clicked the 2.0 thing BAM my profile was changed and i couldnt get it back....thanks again for posting that i was afraid i wouldnt be able to switch it back....how dumb that it was as easy as clicking GO BACK!! hahha

Echo, I figured it out. Go to edit profile. Then his the customize link on the right. Then his the go back button at the top right hand corner, and it'll let you chose between 2.0 or 1.0

I was playing around with it earlier. Almost all of the themes really suck. I like Happiness the best so far. It looks really fresh and the layout is cleaner than any other layout I've come across. Very Web 2.0-ish. It's easy to customize with the drag and drop feature. I like it a lot!

To change the three photos on the upper right corner of your profile, here's what you do:

1. mouse over Profile (in the upper nav bar) and choose Edit Profile (from the drop-down menu)

2. click Basic Info (from the left column)

3. click Change Photo to pick different photos for your top three or to replace your profile photo

4. click Save Changes and you're done!

Its easy to go back. Just hit go back in the top right of the customize section and you'll have your old profile back. Easy! For those of you that do like the 2.0 profile, check out Thanksgiving Profile 2.0 Layouts for some 2.0 Thanksgiving and fall related layouts.

i like it. i don't know what you guys are complaining about. the only thing i don't like, is that there are three pictures in the top module where my name/headline/default pic are. i don't know how to get them to go away. also, none of my pictures fit the box that my default pic goes in. there's always a white border around it, and it's pretty annoying. if anyone knows how to fix this, i will be perfectly happy with 2.0!

On the new 2.0 profile go to "edit profile" and then go down to the "friends space" module, in the corner is a little pencil icon, click that and it will open and let let you change it and it will let you also change if it is public or private.

Onmy tester page, I test out different layout and creations for profile 2.o, and I actually like it. And you CAN still create your own backgrounds. Just go to advanced edit and if you have a Photobucket account, you can link your backgrounds pics as your background. And now, you can try out 2.0 for 90 days and Myspace will save your original layout from 1.0.

If you want your page to be clean and decent for networking purposes or your just a neat freak, profile 2.0 is the way to go. BUT if you want your page to be original, I'll stick with 1.0.

Then when you get to that page click on go back at the top.

You people are being too impatient. You have not fully explored 2.0. You've taken a quick glance, panicked, and decided that you dont like it.
You ARE able to put up whatever background you want. You dont have to use the layouts given. Under the PROFILE tab, click CUSTOMIZE PROFILE, then click ADVANCED EDIT. You should already be on the BACKGROUND tab. Just paste the picture url in the box that says URL. Go through all the different tabs given there, you can change all sorts of things on your page, background colors, text colors and fonts, box sizes. Plus, you can drag the boxes to where ever you want, so you can make your myspace look exactly how you'd like.
As for the privacy issue that people are complaining about... instead of giving you the option of making your ENTIRE page private, you are given the option of choosing Exactly what you want private. For example, you can choose to make your ABOUT ME private, but still leave your COMMENTS. Or you can choose to hide only your COMMENTS. Or you can choose to hide your DETAILS. Basically you can hide whatever you want and leave whatever you want. On the CUSTOMIZE profile page, go to whatever box you want to hide on your profile. On the top right corner of that box, click on the little pencil image. You are then given the following options for Privacy: EVERYONE, FRIENDS ONLY, JUST ME. Pick whichever one you want. Plus theres a choice under it of APPLY TO ALL MODULES.

Like i said, you can pretty much do whatever you want with this Myspace 2.0. Just give it a chance by actually exploring. Dont be so quick to judge something before you give it a REAL try. Thats just my 2 cents.

I think it's a _lot_ less ugly—MySpace profiles used to look like those crappy personal webpages from the nineties, but now there are round corners and borders that line up. Sure, people are still going to do that auto-play/sparkle-text crap, but it's a step in the right direction. And as long as we're still able to use custom CSS/HTML, I think it's great.

We click the upgrade button..it appears as if we are upgrading and then it refreshing back to the original page asking us to upgrade. Weeks and weeks we have been trying. And apparently i am not the only one with this issue. We have tried on multiple computers and in multiple updated browsers. Apparently people that signed up before 2007 are having these issues. Its a shame myspace tech support isnt too strong because they dont address the problem, and they return your help form with a generic reply that doesn't pertain whatsoever to the problem. Shame. I wish they would fix it.

Why try to make Myspace something it is not? Sure, it was extremely cliche, but I liked it the way it was. It was easy to work with, unlike this 2.0 shit. Facebook has it's rep. for being nonclutter and private, Myspace has it's rep. for being filled with junk! I miss 1.0 Myspace. Now new members can't switch. If so, how? I like 2.0. I can't figure out how to set "post comments" to not needing my approval. I have looked at everything. I want my friends to be able to post their comments without having to wait for me to approve them. other than that, i really like this version. It takes patience and time, but as in all new concepts, one just have to work with it and get used to it.
