tell you the truth i have a myspace and i can't see how Facebook can be any better. I know Twitter sucks all you do is make updates. Anyway myspace allows you to be yourself and custimize your page it's a place where you can be you and not care what people think

it's too late. they NEVER got their site functioning properly -- glitches were the order of the day. there's no confidence in them any more. the place looks like a kindergarten classroom where all the kids have taken too much acid. it was a good idea, and MySpace made the least of it. too bad.

if myspace was a little easier to use like facebook is.. and if it focused more on music... the only reason i like it is because its more personal than facebook and that it has so many bands you can discover.. so if they focused on music..

for myspace to make a comeback it needs to simplify. i think it's too cluttered get rid of the apps some of them are just plain stupid

Oh yeah, I can't stand all the glitter, then there are the regular "thanks for the add" comments which I think really just mean "please look at me". The trouble is too much design freedom given to people who don't know how to design let alone usability. I think Bebo is a good alternative for customisation but it doesn't have the users, and those it does have do tend to be a bit younger so not many of my peers.

I avoid MySpace whenever possible, but those saying they hate MySpace and will never return are forgetting or ignoring two things:

- A possible redesign and new (less annoying) features.

- Rupert Murdoch suggest that his news websites will cost users a membership fee from next year, maybe that will extend from news to entertainment and therefore include MySpace.

If MySpace would let music artists upload all of their songs and stop limiting the players and only letting major label artists or certain distributors stream multiple albums in then it could help. Buy buttons too. The discrimination against indie artists is whats not cool. Other sites allow unlimited uploads and buy buttons that lead to music stores whether major or indie. So MySpace can suck it until they stop selling out and excluding indie artists, get with it...that's where its at. Oh yeah and if Twitter could automatically feed and update on MySpace's status like Twitter to Facebook...maybe that would help too. Get over yourself MySpace and learn how to play well with others or we won't use you anymore.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that MySpace is a dead media. After all, the HTML customization capabilities of MySpace far exceed other, more basic mediums. However, it falls painfully short in the type of people that it attracts. I find myself spammed with glittery holiday greetings as opposed to legitimate attempts to communicate.

It does have a thriving music community though and that alone is enough to convince me to stick around MySpace.

Everyone seems to hate MySpace so much these days that I feel the only way to revive the site is to change its name!! No matter what they do to 'revamp' their site I don't see them ever being what they once were... Everything comes to an end sometime. It will probably happen to Facebook too someday... That is just the way it is...

I also agree. MySpace gives you tons of options to make it work just as good as Facebook.
This "Lite" feature is huge option but unfortunately not enough people know about it. Something MS should take note of....

Myspace has tried to make some improvements from what I've seen. They still have a long way to go. They might gain more users back If they would allow the customization of profiles, yet still restrict them from being cluttered. I have no idea how you would do that, but it would be a nifty hybrid-thing-a-ma-bob.

I was never a myspace user. It struck me as a site that was for tweens and young adults !!! At some point, it seemed everyone had a myspace page and I prided myself on not having one !!! I don't know what their demographic was or who they specifically tried to target, but now it seems Twitter and Facebook are the new social networking sites. I had a Facebook account for almost 2 yrs. before I finally started using it actively !!! I have to admit that I enjoy Facebook's user friendly page and I've managed to connect with classmates, family, co-workers and friends !!!

If myspace is to remain relevant, perhaps they may have to revamp and refocus their target demographic and come up with something that no one else has, whatever that may be !!! Unfortunately, that may be too little, too late !!!

I still use myspace b/c I have to--I'm in a band. It allows bands to have unique urls (for one), it has an mp3 player (not a very good one either) that most people are familiar with, and the general orientation of the page has been accepted by site visitors and fans as the norm. Facebook is moving up the charts b/c it's a site that looks professional and welcomed in a corporate environment. Myspace looks childish (like shit). Myspace should get with the times and offer a standards-compliant table-less theme for users who still stand by the site's functionality. Once that is done, have full Facebook connectivity to merge both sites' functionality.
