All this is nice, but what I really want is working Microsoft Exchange access. I am so disappointed. No Tasks, no Categories, no control over which folders get synced. I have 50+ sub-folders, at least three of which are different Contact folders... and the iPhone is trying to grab them all. No way of selecting, all of which renders Exchange/Outlook unusable on the iPhone. I'm totally surprised, it works fine with Entourage. Hopefully they will fix it soon.

Hey Iron, good to see another MS Exchange and Outlook user these days in the 2.0 world!!! I completely agree with you. I have 113 folders (I still don't use categories) for filing my e-mails away. I tried filing a message and it took me 4 minutes to scroll through all my folders. Yes, I seriously hope Apple provides a fix for this MS Exchange issue (including Tasks and Categories).

get yourself over to google reader in mobile safari, then add it to your home screen with the add bookmark icon. You'll soondiscover it doesn't need a dedicated app :-)

Using it right now to read this article

Sweeeeetttt... My iPhone dreams are becoming a reality by the moment! The Wordpress App (as indicated in that URL) isn't "ready for primtetime" yet, nor is it hosted on iTunes yet.

Can't wait for the release and I hope they saw my 2nd prompt warning... :)

I remember Google announcing that they have a BETA reader WEBSITE (NOT app, just site) for the iPhone one or two weeks ago. Did you check it out?

Great list. I'd also like to see apps for E*Trade, Brightkite and Hulu.

I think the Apple Remote is the coolest of them all so far (specially if you have Apple TV and/or several machines)

I find the Google App to be rather odd. For one thing, it doesn't look very iPhone like. For another, most of the other app icons don't look very iPhone like, and their functionality gets launched in Safari (it doesn't even do the embedded browser thing).

I think it is really an Android app running on the iPhone.

I vote for Whrrl for social + LBS. The idea is killer - see the world through the eyes of your friends to find places you're looking for.

I vote for NetSketch. It's like the only one I've found that uses wifi well. Though I pretty much agree with the ones you mentioned - Twitterific is so nice!

I try to be a good "netizen" so I just wrote reviews in iTunes of all the apps I've tried. Here are the 5 star apps - all free. Just try them out. You'll be glad you did.

Remote for making your iPhone a computer or Apple TV remote control. BoxOffice for movie reviews. Cube runner for a simple game using the accelerometer. Midomi and Shazam are music recognizers. Sing or play a tune and they will name it, give you info on it and allow you to buy it in iTunes. Midomi is more flexible but some like Shazams interface better. Save Benjis is an excellent comparison shopper than you can take with you on your iPhone. SportsTap has an elegant user interface that allows you to track all sports scores in real time.

    Enjoy!

uh thanks super-obvious whrrl marketer - i'm with adam on this one. limbo's the most practical and easiest to use since it lets you choose between listing your friends and distance, or by what they're doing.

Great post, but I gotta disagree about Jott being free. You don't pay upfront, but you have to let Jott track your usage and share it with third party advertisers (and provide detailed personal info) to use the service. It is only free if you don't care about your privacy. In general, it seems a little shady that they sell your personal info. Just buy one of the $0.99 recorders. You get what you pay for.
