I can't believe you guys didn't put reverbnation.com on the list, has to be one of the sweetest sites on the net. One of the few sites that was ahead of the curve on widgets and providing artist with useful listener statistics.

    oh well...

As with your July 6, 2007 article about 90+ Essential Music and Audio Websites, you neglected to include Music Blog Aggregator, http://elbo.ws
  • Zack · 2 years ago
I think Mashable should probably stick to Firefox extentions and steer clear of music posts. It's the second time you got it wrong. Not including elbo.ws or hype machine proves you have little to knowledge about music, or music discovery, and the laughable MTV News is on the list.

KCRW.com should be listed on any list of new music links. They are a public radio station located in the basement under the cafeteria at Santa Monica College in California, and feature regular Internet audio streams, Podcasts, and stream live video of new and upcoming musicians and groups broadcast live from the performance studio at the station. KCRW is "a recognized tastemaker for new music from around the world" as is best described from the"About" page on their Web site. KCRW has introduced many new groups long before their music has been played elsewhere. The diversity of music genres is unmatched and the musical knowledge and expertise of the station's music director and DJs is truly outstanding. You might notice from the above that I'm a major fan of the station.

Check them out at: http://www.kcrw.com/ for complete information, simulcasts, archives, etc.

KCRW also features a separate music channel at: http://www.kcrwmusic.com/

http://www.hurlmusic.com/ is a great Australian music resource covering all areas of Australian music. Here you can find many new and exciting Australian bands producing innovative music, as well as band reviews and news on the Australian music industry in general. Many of the bands are as yet unsigned.

Re Pandora.com - "Pandora will create a radio station for you featuring that artist and similar acts" - this only works if you are based in USA! Other IPs are blocked,

Just ran accross a new music discovery site: www.spooonful.com. Seems they will be delivering one email with one band once a week. First few bands seem good and with only one email not spammy at all. Worth checking out - I know I will.
  • John · 1 year ago
I just ran accross spooonful.com as well. Very cool and simple. They send one email with one band a week so makes it easy to discover new stuff....agree that first few bands are good - and different from one another. Worth signing up!
