Remember the Lexus vs. Infinity war? Infinity never showed the product. They also never ended up selling vehicles. This hype-based marketing won't compete with savvy consumers who want sexy products, not sexy ads. The Droid won't ever sell nearly as well as iPhone.

Re: Motorola Droid’s New “Stealth” Commercial [Video]

Anyone who has young kids will immediately recognize this as a rip off of the very first episode of the ever popular Ben-10 where the Omnitrix is jettisoned from a space ship under attack. It lands in the woods, Ben Tenison walks over to the edge of the small crater, the device opens up and inside is the Omnitrix.

Ben 10 is Awesome!

The Droid is not nearly half as cool as the Omnitrix!

Re: Motorola Droid’s New “Stealth” Commercial [Video]

I know that the Droid is going to have multi-touch and its also going to have tethering capabilities (you can use it as an aircard for the internet)

http://fakekiwi.com/technol...

http://fakekiwi.com/technol...

Check them out because I know im getting excited about the Droid...that new commercial is really cool and I wonder if they are going to have like a 5 part series or something. This could have been more effective by positioning all the benefits of this phone with a little style mixed in. Benefits include: customizable, how it makes standalone GPS units obsolete, Apps (the rage), etc... I understand its a "buzz builder" but I think the fanboys and techies are already on board.... now it needs that majority of customers who need to know "why it is important to them" and "what it can do for them"... am I off base? It also should have ended with a CTA like "visit verizonwireless.com/Droid". In the age of share-bility every video should point "home". Regardless I will own this phone in Dec. :)

Re: Motorola Droid’s New “Stealth” Commercial [Video]

This thing is going to be so sick.

Re: Motorola Droid’s New “Stealth” Commercial [Video]

Dropping these things as shown doesn't exactly seem like the friendliest delivery method. It has everything to do with the phone and the message Verizon is using versus AT&T

Re: Motorola Droid’s New “Stealth” Commercial [Video]

This reminds me of that car commercial in the super bowl a few years back with the pack of deer running through the forest. Remember that one? None-tech-savvy people aren't going to know what this commercial is advertising. I realize that those people aren't the market they're shooting for, but then why advertise on tv on all?

Re: Motorola Droid’s New “Stealth” Commercial [Video]

Building anticipation is great, but I think this strategy is not very effective. The majority of smart phones are hard to use for the average person, so why would you build more mystery in to it? (seriously?, an outdated cowboy stereotype saying 'what is thaaat?!' - seriously?) iPhone commercials are successful because they show you the ACTUAL usage of the phone and HOW EASY IT IS. I would not suggest they copy the execution of those spots, rather that they show the reality of how this phone works. Because in the long term, this mystery/high-tech strategy will fail.

Re: Motorola Droid’s New “Stealth” Commercial [Video]

I love it!
