MMS has been around for how many years and AT&T is now just announcing it for the iPhone? Can someone please explain to me why they were so late? AT&T has the worst coverage.
  • d3bruts1d · 2 months ago
Because of the huge number of iPhone users, AT&T claims that the network wouldn't have been able to handle all of the data and they needed time to preform upgrades. This of course is BS, as AT&T's network cannot even handle phone calls in many areas.

I was told by tech support that friday's release also includes tethering, but no news on extra cost...

can you guys track down some info?

Should I be excited? I'm not.

But I will use it once it comes out.

I bet it will crash the first day and everyone will have to wait until the next day to use it haha

I'm excited for no other reason than we will no longer be forced into using that horrible view my message service. What a turd.

MMS works in Canada with the iPhone!
  • d3bruts1d · 2 months ago
And pretty much everywhere else the iPhone is sold. US iPhone users get screwed because of AT&T.

    Yeah right!

Not much use having MMS when 3.1 is putting countless iphones into a coma and sucking batteries dry in 2 hrs!

I've had MMS on my iPhone for a couple weeks now but I have now lost the ability to send group text when it is turned on... any thoughts?
  • Geoff Peterson · 2 months ago
Seriously...it's about time! Most advanced phone on the market, but can't receive picture or video texts. Apple should have opened this up to more than AT&T with the 3rd generation phones. This would have been taken care of already.

I tried that like 3 days ago and I get an error every time I send mms it doesn't work.

It's about time! AT&T shouldn't be touting that they're going to have MMS on Friday - they should be embarrassed that they still don't have it right now.
  • Lweis Lee · 2 months ago
I'm even excited to use. But the delay has reduced my expectations. Can anyone help me with the plans of AT&T?
  • Audeo5 · 2 months ago
Wasn't this supposed to cost something extra?

Will AT&T be able to handle iPhone 3G/iPhone 3GS MMS traffic tomorrow? - http://pkmtech.net/?p=191

    Hey Guys,
There is an interesting event at Stanford GSB on Oct 20 about Mobile Payments, thought it might interest some of you here.
    Check it out http://www.vlab.org/article.html?aid=283

Wow, I didn't even know you couldn't use MMS on iPhone in the US!
We use it all the time on iPhone in Australia.

For those of you who keep holding out for AT&T to bring MMS to your phone and have been let down a dozen times before; do your self a favor and try MMS from MMS.ifind2.com it's only a $ 1.99 and there is no hidden charges or other AT&T crap.

I've had SwirlyMMS since phone 2.0 (cracked), and Apple's MMS on my 3G, but nobody wants to use MMS here in Europe when they charge $4 (both sender and receiver) for EACH friggin' pic exchange!! I'm ditching Vodafone next month for good. And the lame thing about MMS, is that even though its basically email over mobile, they charge it separately from the dataplan. duh!! I use Gmail for iphone and its free via wifi. MMS? no thanks :) I'll stick to push notifications, and I hope you guys get better rates there than us here ....
