Does anyone else find it humorous that so many people went out of their way to say how much they didn't care? The whole 'Hannah Montana' phenom isn't exactly targeting my demographic (34 male single african-american [or whatever the PC classification du jour is] with no kids of HM range [or any age for that matter]), but screaming "I don't care about you" seems to be a much better indicator of who the juvenile is. For what it was and what it was worth to me, I enjoyed it, and plan to pretty much proceed with the rest of my life. +1 Miley, wannaB 'Haters - um.. rent a life and borrow a friend to brag about it.

She had 22million followers.
While yes, a lot of them were probably bots, there are still millions of users who were interested in hearing (reading) what she had to say.
While she still has other ways to communicate with her fans (YouTube for example), this was one of the most accessible.
Lots of her fans can't afford (or aren't allowed to have) a MileyWorld account to see her blog.
Tweeting about her private life is what made it all the more special. She wasn't hiding anything, it was all right there.

She will be missed indeed.

I'm a bit late on this topic, but isn't this true of many of Twitter's high profile accounts?
Or for that matter true on most sites.

Keeping in contact with ones audience is important. Twitter (for now) being popular and having the attraction of "real-time" search (for the most part anyway, when it isn't down lol)

I personally am indifferent as to whether or not Miley returns. However, I think it would be to her audience's/fan's best interest. There will always be gossip. It takes a mature person to take it with a grain of salt, especially given the source (e.g. tabloids, SPAM websites, Bloggers with no credibility).
