Ah, Facebook and Microsoft, a match made in heaven. Of course, they were made for each other really. Lumbering behemoths, prone to bungling and deaf to their users. Hence my blog post, Is Facebook the Microsoft of Social Media?

The design sucks. Nothing is visually grouped. I can gloss over the whole page without my eye catching anything. It's TOO simple and needs more subtle visual cues for grouping sections other then light colored lines. It gives me no direction other then those large images at the top.

This is awesome! I am have been anti Microsoft for some time now and Pro Google. This may have just convinced me enough to convert.

Definitely a step in the right direction for Microsoft, but the bigger threat to new browser and the whole social media is that corporations not only banning use of social media at workplace, but they also refusing to upgrade to new versions. Big tree for instance all using IE6, well needless to say they have many other issues as well, but I think this corporate IT thinking is wide spreading. Is Apple finally unveiling iSocial mobile platform for all of us? Steve are you there?

I think being at the forefront of technology and innovation, which most people who read Mashable are, means that we sometimes forget the day to day usage of your typical, average consumer. Certainly in the UK although usage of MSN slows, there are still high levels of usage amongst core audiences for most brands that I work on. Using Twitter and Facebook with MSN is certainly an interesting shift, although whether it makes a massive impact overall I think we won't know for awhile.

Wow I'm impressed! I never visited MSN much to be honest due to the unattractive interface but this might make me reconsider!

Edit: Although now that I think about it, I probably won't ever change iGoogle as my default homepage, which makes me less likely to visit MSN.

I'm impressed! Looks great. I know it's still the homepage on my mom and dad's computers. Which means it's definitely on a lot of default homepages since they never changed it. My mom is following me on Twitter now, by the way.
