I'm pretty surprised anyone really took him. I know that most fans of any football team will not be pleased, but I'm sure many will overlook his past. I personalyl don't think he should have been allowed the privelege of coming back to the nfl. He served his time in jail which is fine, but now he gets to have a career making more in a year than some make in a lifetime? Come on

I abhor the torture of all sentient beings, including deer, hamsters etc. There needs to be some respect. The animals who end up on your plate at dinner time, by law, have to be killed by humane standards (yes, this opens the door for lots of arguements but that's for another time). Even war criminals responsible for the most appalling crimes imaginable cannot legally be tortured >What did those dogs do that made their torture and suffering acceptable?

Is everybody forgetting michael did not kill a human wasn't selling drugs and there was no hard pressed eveidence of him torturing the dogs himself besides his cousins how were trying to get lighter sentences i believe he did front the money for the dog fighting which is very wrong but u have guys getting federal drug charges (jamal lewis) he gets 4 months in prison and a four gaame suspension,you have guys testing positive for steriods little suspension that directly effect the game the man has did his time just think like this plasico got 2 years for a gun and vick gets the same amount for ths everyone deserves another chance i'm glad his back and all u haters don't be mad cause he's not on your squad!

Honestly, I just watched and really listened to Micahel Vick's press conference. I do not hear true remorse or undersstanding that what he did is wrong, whether it was done to a dog, a cat, a person... He says things along the lines of "I didn't care... well, I don't want to say I didn't CARE but now I understand that people care about their pets so I will too". He doesn't truly care about what he did - he cares that his past actions have come back to haunt him. When he heard those dogs screaming and saw them suffering, how could he NOT understand how wrong his actions were? Wrong no matter WHAT living, feeling creature they were inflicted upon.

Perplexed, you have me perplexed. Do you really care about the act that Vick is alleged to have done (have you, or anyone else, bothered to read the actual indictment, plea agreement or statement of facts to see what Vick did -- as opposed to the other people indicted with him, or do you just want to attribute everything to Vick?) or are you merely misplacing your frustration with life in general onto Vick because it's an easy bandwagon on which to jump? The true answer comes from your response to this: what have you done to help other animals in your local area that are "screaming" and "suffering" since you seem so incensed by Vick's "wrong actions?" If you can figure out how to leave a blog ranting about your "opinions" you are obviously capable of logging on to one of the numerous websites for those organizations that dedicate their lives to helping prevent and address cruelty to animals. But it would see to me that you, like so many others on this bandwagon, would rather scream and rant and rave and hoot and holler about how much Vick's actions offend you because they were so reprehensible, yet when asked to actually DO something to help avoid these "offensive actions" from happening in the future, well, you don't really THAT much, do ya? There's a definition for that: self-righteous hypocrite.
Should I be wrong, and you want to help, visit the Humane Society of the United States' website, or that of the Animal Legal Defense Fund or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Put your passion to good use.

I believe Michael Vick would say and do anything to keep is lucrative career and salary. Do I believe he's sorry for what he did, NO! He's playing a role. I have no respect or sympathy for people who abuse helpless animals or children.

Vick has a mental problem!! How unbalanced do you have to be to torture ANYTHING--or put your own pet into the ring to be torn to shreds and Laugh. This is not a situation of going to jail for a single crime and paying your dues. He did these horrible things over a period of years. Does anyone think jail cured him? He talks a big game only to pump up his bank book. You may want your kids to look to him as a role model that would be a bad judgment call on your part

He did not make a mistake. This was a series of actions and events that happened over and over again. He had plenty of time to think about these things and could have stopped them. The police had to do it for him.

Drown a dog with your bare hands. Electrocute a couple of dogs. Hang them from a tree. Put them in a pit and force them to fight each other to the bloody grusome death. Obviously none of those things are enough for some people to bar a man a from the privilege of playing in the NFL.

What about molesting children. Is that enough? Is there a minimum number. Maybe 5. Maybe there should be actual penetration? Should you get a second chance? Giving people a second chance is righteous. Everybody deserves a second chance right? Maybe we should not judge anybody and just let God decide? Osama Bin Laden, he deserves a second chance, Right? There are a lot people over the years with talents equal to Vick in all sorts of activities. They might have made it just as big, but things just didn't break their way. Tyson Wheeler from URI is one that comes to mind for me. But for Vick, he got his chance and committed heinous acts with the wealth that was showered on him. Now he deserves a second chance? You people are disgusting.
