Does anyone else get the irony that a late night talk-show host comedian is calling anything a "waste of time". Hello?
  • Danjalier · 4 months ago
In this case, irony speaks volumes of truth.

Dave sounds like if the ball goes in his yard he's keeping it and "if you kids keep it up I'm gonna call your father." Jeez, talk about cranky old man.

With twitter i'm learning a lot of stuff for my craft. it's just a matter of choosing whom to Follow.

I agree with Letterman. Twitter has turned into a platform for what are essentially "email lists". Outside of companies marketing, bloggers too lazy to update their sites with full blog posts, and geeks...Twitter is essentially a waste of time.

The way they explained, it does sound like a waste of time.

Actually, I thought it was quite funny. His show puts out on Twitter, as he doesnt tweet.I think he is old school and like you say, possibly catch up given time.

Dave rocks! Even though he can't type and probably doesn't own a computer.

You do realize that every time he says he hates twitter, you mention it, and so do twitterers everywhere...

Why does my account have to be verified to comment on your Facebook updates? Does one have to have a cell phone to comment? Is this a Facebook thing or a Mashable thing? Because I can comment on others.

That's lame. Next he'll be saying that DubLi.com is 'irrelevant'. Which is complete nonsense! Beware the technological dinosaurs....

Maybe David Letterman will wake up in 10 years or so to realize that social media has a huge impact in bringing in more awareness to your brand name which in this case is his show.
David Letterman needs to wake up and use social media because if he doesn't control his brand name, someone else will. A competitor.
David Letterman may say that he doesn't need anymore attention or that he has enough brand name to not need Twitter but if this is the case, then why is the David Letterman show number two in the late night rating ?
This goes to show you that everyone including David Letterman himself can use social media to improve the brand name as well as customer loyalty.
