Businesses just need to realize that this a new age of transparency. They can try to hide and cover things up, but with social media and technology as it is (and growing!) everything will eventually get out.

EJ, Lebron James and Nike are not exactly in need of publicity. Completely moronic PR move, it definitely hurt both their brands. What's worse, it never would have mattered if they hadn't tried to hide the tapes. Weak dunk on a defender who was out of position, it happens. Now it's become a cautionary tale about paranoia and the illusion of control in the age of transparency. Times like this I wish I had 4 hands, so I could give this situation 4 thumbs down.

It's a smart marketing ploy by Nike, whether they intended it to be or not. They seized the video, generating huge amounts of buzz about LeBron (& themselves in the process). Their cost: $0. Value received: $millions.

You really consider TMZ and EBaum to be "social media"?
  • Frederick Townes · 4 months ago
Absolutely. Who shot the video? People like you and me. Who distributed it? Nike.com? No blogs did.

Eh everyone gets dunked on once in a while...looked pretty nasty...Bron ain't tripping off that

yeah with all this buzz I was expecting to see something different, you know, something like lebron falling. I wonder if he shook this guy's hand after the game.

Meh. That's right. I said 'meh'!

The more you want to hide it, the more popular it will be!

This was just a bonehead move by Nike... Whoever the rep was at the game should have informed LeBron of the 100 or so plus people who are probably taping the game from the stands.

    smh

No it doesn't, this is stupid... why even waste time writing about it?

I dont know why every one is making such a huge deal out of this. Its not like they were one on one and he blew by with a monster finish over top. Lebron was simply rotating behind a double screen. This happens all the time!! One Human Project at www.onehumanproject.org
