Mashable - The Social Media Guide: JK Wedding Dance Leads to Unexpected Divorce [VIDEO]

  • julia richardson · 4 months ago
WOW! I just can't believe someone pulled together something so impressive and professional so fast! Never really watched collegehumor videos but if more of them are this great I will certainly start!
Disagree with people who think this hurts the original. I think it's celebrating it! The internet is clearly a powerful tool! JK were just some couple in the middle of nowhere a few months ago. Now they have an SNL-quality spoof of their day they can show their grandkids.
Amazing work! Hilarious video! Way to go collegehumor!
    Thank you Jennifer for sharing!!!

Seriously? Just because you said it's meme-worthy, it's not. Pff.
  • Digital Jedi · 4 months ago
Just because you say it's not and go "Seriously?", doesn't mean it's not either. Pff.

    pretty good.
  • OhhJohnny · 4 months ago
This is lame. The first was great because of the real nature of it. This is just dumb.
  • Phuong · 4 months ago
Not really digging this video. It takes away the magic of the first one ... I know it is a joke but I don't think it's a good video as a stand-alone.

This has the makings of a fullscale musical. Um, was the bride a bloke in drag in this?!
  • Drunkenatheist · 4 months ago
You got my hopes up. I thought they had divorced.
  • Aayush Shastri · 4 months ago
    me too...!
  • Jaq Abergas · 4 months ago
I thought it was going to be corny but when they first guys walked into the room and started to dance, I find myself laughing. The original, of course, is still better but this is not so bad. Nice!

I wish the extras hadn't acted so poorly. Other than that, pretty cool.

The video is not actually FROM CollegeHumor, they're just hosting it. The real company behind it it's NYVideoProduction, that posted the original clip to YouTube a couple days ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbr2ao86ww0

It´s cool but doesn´t really have the same vibe as the original. Those girls do swing those legs pretty well though!
  • Karen Kohr Blinn · 4 months ago
As awesome in the presentation as the other. I am 68 and jiggied right along in my chair with each dancer. I used to "stroll" to another tune years ago. Thank you for the fun and for the tears I shed at the wedding. Brides do that to me. It comes with age I think.

Best to all involved in this treat!

    Because it's staged, it's crap.
  • Julie · 4 months ago
    Even tackier than the prequel.

It looks like some of you either don't understand parody or maybe you just don't appreciate it. I thought the video was very funny (unlike most things found on CollegeHumor) and nicely executed.
  • boomcastings · 4 months ago
The real video isn't from College Humor. Oh no... someone didn't get their facts right! It's from NYC company Indigo Productions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbr2ao86ww0 Hillarious!
  • Digital Jedi · 4 months ago
Indigo Productions is the one who uploaded it to College Humor, just like they did to YouTube.
  • Dave Kerpen · 4 months ago
It's not from College Humor, they just reposted it. From Indigo Productions. Also, we beat you to this one, Jennifer. Posted 5 hours earlier at http://tr.im/ViralFri :)

    The original was better.
  • MCDayGlo · 4 months ago
The first one was great mostly because it was so joyful and positive. Doing a follow-up about divorce is cynical and pessimistic.
  • Jamie Beckland · 4 months ago
Sorry, Jennifer. Your write up is a bit overblown. Other commenters have already said this, but this video isn't really very funny at all. It doesn't take the meme and do anything interesting with it at all. It's nowhere near "as meme-worthy as the original". It's a mildly amusing idea, but that's about it.

The reason that the original was so fun and interesting was because, as OhhJohnny says, it was authentic. Nicely produced, but no punch.

Slow news days? Or just too easy to post since CollegeHumor wrote it up for you?
  • Lgrady · 4 months ago
    This is great!
The sad thing is if divorce was that nice!! This is the only time DIVORCE can make you smile can chuckle the whole day.
  • Zstryker · 3 months ago
Awesome. Loved the lawyer/court workers/witness fights. Where as the original made me cry, I'm always up for a good parody and this one is fantastic.

Don't you think it went viral again because The Office spoofed it?
