I do believe that if both Vodafone and Orange give this phone for free on certain montly fees, then the Iphone will become the most popular phone in the uk.
I am windows mobile user and I am impressed with the usability of the Iphone, which makes the device the best phone ever.
People at Apple know what they are doing. I can't actually wait to see what is going to happen next year with all the Android device on the market.
Tomorrow, however, Windows mobile 6.5 will be released and I pretty excited to see how it has been improved.

Glad that the Iphone isn't exclusive to o2 anymore, but I hope Orange and Vodafone's tariffs are lower.

Hi Boonzeet,

I often feel when I browse internet on my phone, its screen is small even though I have Blackberry Storm. I want the mobile phone to have small projector, so the images can be projected and I can read things as a ebook. Or a projector to view a movie. Who could have imagined few years back to have iPhone dock with Bose. So as the rule goes, the innovation are dependent on what you want.

I had conveyed through my iwaant blog to ASUS netbooks that they should work on having a projector just like Nikon S1000 on their proposed netbook.

What else can you put on a phone? They'd have to have something totally revolutionary just to make any headway in the market. I don't know a single person in my entire school who owns an Android phone.

In my opinion, iPhone is gonna win due to the appeal behind the product - everyone gets jealous of the guy with the iPhone, and the iPhone is a superior music player, too. Not to mention great for games - if only Macbook was great with games.... :/

I agree with you. Today it looks like the mobile operators are queuing for selling iPhone. Google Android is going to catch up. The handset are quicker and cheaper compared to iPhone. Nokia became popular because of the camera on the mobile phone. Apple because of its apps. Now lets see what Google phone has in store.

This is excellent news, O2 have done a pretty good job with the iphone but its great to have the extra competition.

I just called to cancel my 24 month contract with Three today, 3 months early. They said they could offer me something better than the iPhone but not an actual iPhone.

You can add three to the list too, When I phoned up to cancel my contract with three they asked why and I said the reason was an iphone I was asked to hold the line. The guy at three said he had to find out if they could give me an iphone as he knew they were getting them but not when.

For starters Vodafone will definitely not be the exclusive carrier, as the article clearly explains. 02's exclusivity deal is running out and Apple obviously think it is now more beneficial to open out to other carriers. This will certainly bring the price down - anyone who says otherwise needs to brush up on their basic economics. I agree with tudoradam - Apple benefitted greatly from the desire factor for the past two years but if they don't make the iPhone more available they will give their competitors a big helping hand.

How is this a wonderful thing!? Vodafone is expensive and a terrible network to be with, its probably just a touchscreen portal. I cannot see them being the exclusive carrier, for the reason that apple will most likely keep people tied into the existing contracts on 02 like they did with the iPhone 3G, and letting customers upgrade early if they sign back into the 18 month contract from the time of getting the handset. I will be gutted if this happens everyone i know is on 02.

There won't be any price war as the firms are still having to subsidise the handsets! We'll get the occasional, slightly cheaper monthly charge tariff, but that's it!
