    wiki site a visit.

Great advice. I have begun the process of writing blog articles and joining social networks to promote my web design business. My only question is how do you keep up with it all? There is only so much time in a day! :-)

Dan, great article, and a very relevant advice. For a lot of people with very little 'background' and not much Googl-able news, the bad stuff is the only material that turns up! These tips (i.e. get active online and replace the bad stuff!) is spot on. i would also add that doing good stuuf online will help erode the negative material also..given Google is mostly about what happens offline!

David. Excellent and pithy article. In particular, the reminder about publishing an eBook is invaluable. It made me reflect on what topics make me hot under the collar or wired with frenzy - my Facebook feed has revealed some definite topics to consider. So watch out world, some eBooks are on their way!

    Dear Dan,

How long would you say this whole process will take? I am a very person, and I need to be able to plan my day accordingly.

Dan, this is really about beginning publishing on the web too, isn't it?

I have a friend who's a student and wants to continue his Literature at Oberlin.
When I read what you write however, I ask "Why aren't people just beginning the basics of publishing on the web, now?". Not later, when we have the credentials. Now. Things are too exciting on the web to blow-off and you must publish to be of good esteem at college, why not just start now on the web?

This is exactly one of the biggest reasons we exist. Our site is about preserving your legacy for the future generations, so that you can help control what your ancestors read about you, rather than leaving it up to others. Our site is very well liked by Google so start telling your stories :) www.storyofmylife.com
