Mashable - The Social Media Guide: HOW TO: Create and Share a Twittrlist of Your Favorite Tweets

  • Alexander Grundner · 6 months ago
It would be nice if they had a Twttrlist "best of" widget to go along with this that you could add to your blog.

Good point - I don't see that feature. Would seem like a useful addition, particularly for bloggers.

right. that was actually part of what i was working on (tweetshots). it was a slideshow widget containing your favorite tweets (as images).

What Mashable is for social media topics, TwitterList of Squidoo may/will be for Twitter and its Tweeps

    Good point .

    Oh I love this!!!
Thanks for outlining it, AND incorporating the great Squidoo site to pull in the favorite tweets!

This is especially important if rumor is true that Tweets will not be archived and stored forever - so making them a favorite and pulling them in will overcome that issue.

CoachDeb, could you point me to a reference on this rumor? Curious. Was talking to someone last night about this and pointed out that my first tweet from March 2007 still exists. I also thought that twitter does not believe in deleting anything.... although they have at times turned off the ability to navigate too deeply back into a stream.

Love the tool, but wish it was working on other coding not just English :(

What makes a tweet "good" or "bad"? Makes me think of the old saying...."Sex is like Pizza, even when it's bad, it's good" .....or was it the other way around....

Another great partnership between squidoo and twitter. I could see some great storylines developing with this one just looking at a couple of people currently tweeting about their adventures. The modern day journal.

I wrote an article last week about favourite tweets and it gained alot of interest regarding how to see your favourite tweets in Google search results (articles here if you want to see how that works http://www.justinparks.com/favourite-tweets/).

It made me think about this under used feature in twitter and indeed twttrlist seems to address it directly especially if what CoachDeb suggests is true and tweets have a finite shelf life . Will make me much more inclined to "record" important tweets and categorise them for future reference but specifically having a widget for the blog with a "best of" would be a really nice feature indeed.

i'll check this out... as i have talked about twitter favorites being way underused in the past and have experimented with the twitter API to tap into them.

of interest might be an app i put out there a year ago - http://tweetshots.com
it allows you to immortalize a tweet as a screenshot and post to tumblr or elsewhere.
i have unreleased features that make use of your favorites. just never bothered finishing it for public use.

so twitter + tumblr can be used to curate tweets in a more visual and permanent way.

this site was recently launched and is a fun example:
