We kept up to date with the outage by searching for google OR #googlefail in the live tweets section at http://dailyrt.com - Most of the site was up, though some of the functionality suffered.

Google Sync Services (Exchange integration) for Windows Mobile have been on the fritz since yesterday. All my contacts were deleted from my phone, I sure hope they fix this soon.

    i can't even access google.com

The problem also effected ads served by googlesyndication.com. If you had them at the top of your page then the page wouldnt load at all. Essentially the page loaded until it hit that section and then just timed out.

we have pulled all google banner ads from http://www.handyguyspodcast.com - will wait until things are stable again before re-instating them.

I have Google Voice probs. My caller ID is normally my own number so i can tell what number they dialed. Now the person's caller ID comes through and I thought they were dialing my cell number! At least the calls are coming through though.

I'm not sure why this is news and if AT&T's mobile network has a glitch, it isn't.

It's been really slow, timing out about 25% of the time...but I'm not using an AT&T service. #googlefail

Funny, my phone and internet at home were down yesterday and part of today and we have AT&T...Not connected? Just randomness?

So far no problems with google search or gmail in DC. The only problem that I've encountered with google has been with google chat SMS. The recipient replied saying that the same message was sent multiple times.

Google Voice went berserk, sending the same text message over and over to me and my friends. It send the same message 15 times for every message send and received.

I was trying to set up a three-way call but no one could reach me on my Google Voice number. It'd either not work or go to some other number...

GoogleVoice seems to be effected the most. I wonder how much of a part AT&T plays with the phone side of GoogleVoice. The Web portion of GoogleVoice seems (and seemed) fine. Hmm... I'll vote for AT&T as the fail point.

I found Chrome to be out of wack, slow and not responding in certain instances that I didnt experience in the past; however, unsure whether this relates to #googlefail

Unable to access AT&T data services while loading the Google maps app on my iphone 3G this morning while having a full 3G signal.
  • trapster · 6 months ago
We were made aware of the issue as soon as it hit, smack in the middle of the West Coast morning commute. Trapster uses Google Maps on the iPhone, and it worked fine over WiFi but not over ATT 3G/EDGE. Both our dynamic and static maps stopped loading. We immediately tested maps.google.com and other google.com services via Safari on iPhone and could not connect over 3G/EDGE, but could over WiFi. Other sites worked fine over both. We also tested the iPhone Maps app, which worked fine over both 3G/EDGE and WiFi. It uses Google tiles, but accesses them through different servers. We assume it was some sort of routing issue, but in any case all we could do was wait. All seems back to normal now.

Oh boo hoo, speeders weren't able to cheat the system for a few minutes. Maybe a life was saved!
