Google calendar made it easy for us to share calendars as a team - combined with using Busy Sync for mac and google calendar sync for pc
Thunderbird email client can run on MS, OSx and Lunux and the Add-ons will work regardless of OS.
The add-ons needed are -
lightning to add calenders
Zindus to add google address book syncing
"Provider for Google calender" for err well google calender.
We do have to be vigilant when it comes to keeping the market competitive, but there's plenty of competition when it comes to the online world, I think. :)
