Considering my extreme dislike of Yelp and Yelpers (is that a word) that get elitist like their opinion means more because they post more often, I'm loving this!

How far will Google go to expand from primarily a search directory that gets people off Google to what they are looking for to a centralized hub of information keeping users on Google? Will they automatically give their "content" page rank priority over others like a Yelp? This is the same thing that Yahoo and Microsoft did with their portals which is what gave Google their oppty in the first place. Google may not have done very well with product search (froogle) but there are some very smart people there and this particular feature has potential. I don't know how well this will be accepted by consumers but Yelp may lose a good deal of their organic traffic. Will be interesting to watch.

Can you make it so that when you search for a local business (when my location is detected) that it tells me how far the listing is away from me?

Hope google can take down yelp.com. NO yelp.com the community will be a better place. People will be more responsible for their words and actions. People will think more before they say thing. People will be more productive just like before yelp come in to the community. I know it sounds boring but it's what the community need right now. Yelp is all a joke, they are not the kind of business with integrity.

Thank God for Yelp alternatives. Yelp keeps calling me to pay them money and I refuse to support THE worst site for small businesses out there. I hope Yelp figures their sh*t out or dies.
