    smart for godaddy
but i still dont get twitter --- they are now having companies sell followers by the thousands --- it has absolutely no value
and i still dont believe these companies saying that they make $ on twitter -- show me a real example in real dollars and ill believe (other than Dell who makes millions an hour anyway)

Dude, you don't have to get it. You have to just do it and try it with an open mind. I'm using Twitter to network and build my list of contacts.

I market stuff. I need people to sell it to.

Don't knock it, Until You Try It.

We have had this feature already on www.tweexchange.com where you can live search if your twitter user name and domain names are available at the same time. If the name you want is suspended from twitter you can even be notified when it becomes available again!

So you can register both twitter accounts and go and buy the domain from tweexchange. No need to go through all the trouble of going into your account manager at godaddy!

Heh, not really that new. Tweexchange.com has been doing this for a while now.

everyone is making a buck off of twitter except twitter.

What money is godaddy making by offering this option? Maybe they are just servicing a market need.

It's really helpful when companies integrate social media sites into their sign ups. I love what GoDaddy's doing with Facebook and Twitter.

They get a lot of mentions on Twitter, it's just that the word "sucks" frequently accompanies those mentions.

"cover of time" link is broken.

    thanks, fixed

You can also check for a domain name's availability on Twitter by following and DMing http://twitter.com/domaincheck It'd be nice if you could register the domain at the same time though.

    I love GoDaddy!

A bit of irony. GoDaddy knows how to monetize Twitter, but Twitter is still a bit clueless on how to monetize their users.

This seems to be a nice new novelty feature on the GoDaddy domain search service that can save new domain registrations some time.
  • Michael Bauser · 5 months ago
Bah. Go Daddy's business is so ridiculously dependent on domain speculators that all they're really doing is encouraging the creation of Twitter accounts that will never be used.

    interesting development

My question is, what kind of $$$ deal did Twitter strike with GoDaddy? I, for one, sincerely doubt that GoDaddy likes Twitter so much they are just doing this for free. Come on...
