I really want to see what they do with the aweso.me - who gets it? It's not fair to say that one person gets it and another doesn't because their system screwed up. Class action lawsuit anyone?

10 .Me registrations - all failed.. and I even registered during the sunrise period in June.
I also registered hug.me. I received the receipt at 11:53:37 EST. I bought a dozen other names, but none are being shown in my panel.
Let's see who ends up with it :-)

1) byte.me
2) meme.me
I just argued with their customer service rep, saying that if I paid for something that didn't exist, I should be able to get my money back right away.
He disagreed.
And then he tried to convince me to re-up on some of my expiring domains. Completely inappropriate.
From the GoDaddy FAQ's:
What is the auction process for .me domains?
During the Sunrise and Landrush periods, we may receive multiple applications for the same .me domain. During the Sunrise period, we validate the applications to ensure applicants entered the appropriate trademark information. If an application does not pass validation, we reject it. If we still have multiple applications for the same domain, we auction the domain to the highest bidder.
Full details here: http://tinyurl.com/godaddyfaq
I got burned on two attempted registrations earlier as well. :(
Because they're running late on those, I'm guessing it screwed up open registration.
Ramsinks.com
allthingsthatfly.com

I tried to buy several other domains, got charged and then received the failed mails. Godaddy fail :(
Here's the list so far that I tried and have in my account:

BUDWEISER.ME- FAILED
DORITOS.ME- FAILED
PUNCH.ME- FAILED
MERCEDES.ME - FAILED
BUDLIGHT.ME - PASSED
PABST.ME - PASSED
YOUTUBE.ME - FAILED
BUDLIGHT.ME - PASSED
MILLERLITE.ME - PASSED
CHICAGOTRIBUNE.ME - PASSED (Just because)
JEFFWOELKER.ME - Obviously
Let the squatting begin.

There is also something fishy going on with http://auctions.domains.me
My domain that GoDaddy allowed me to purchase 3 times this morning showed up shortly thereafter on the auction site, which just happens to have a GoDaddy support number.
Godaddy is attempting to divert the weight of the massive customer dissatisfaction on to the registry in Montenegro and not accept any responsibility themselves.
I have extensive experience in the domain name market and have never witnessed anything that stinks like this. I will enthusiastically join the inevitable class action lawsuit. I've been with GoDaddy for a lot of years, but after the disrespectful manner in which I have been treated today, would like to see them go down.
I suspect strongly that there is a rogue element within the company that actually reviews checkouts before finalization looking for aftermarket profitability. They could be behind the scam today.
If someone bought my .me domain today and is entitled to go in the auction process that I paid a premium for, then I have right to take legal action myself.
I'm actually not that sort of person that brings lawyers in on everything. But what I'm trying to say is it mightn't be as conspiratorial as you are making out. The open period went ahead when the landrush hadn't been completed. For some reason the pending auctions weren't noted on the registry. Someone screwed up, true, but I don't think it's a scam.
https://auctions.domain.me/
It's also VERY fishy that their WHOIS server is not responding to .ME requests, to see if in fact GoDaddy or another individual is poaching the registrations.
I believe I'll transfer my existing domains to another more trustworthy registrar tomorrow. Looks like ten years later, I'll be going back to Network Solutions. Any other reputable recommendations from you guys?
Disgusted with GoDaddy and the queer looking dude that runs it.
THEN they moved them over to an auction site so they could reap the rewards.
They basically registered all the .me domain names for themselves and are going to make tons of money selling them off.
I guess they were tired of selling things for $10 and seeing others sell them for $50K. Oh yeah, and they were tired of being an ethical company. Has anyone started the lawsuits yet? I want my damn domain!
There were a ton of domain names that were considered "premium" from the get-go, and were bound to end up auctioned off. I'm not sure who's going to profit, exactly, but I assume it's some fat cat in the Sovereign Kingdom of Montenegria.
godaddy's tech support is 480-505-8877
and they both go to the same place...coincidence too?
Afilias.com got a sweet deal registering this and tens of thousands of premium .me names
The best part is they got a trademark on bite.me in the year 1900.
Domain registration for bite.me
registered Afilias: 4/29/08
trademarked applied: 1/1/1900
trademarked registered: 1/1/1900
See how Afilias.com overca.me
Godaddy seems to have the most flexible tools for bulk domain editing, which is what makes them a necessary evil. Someone with a "don't be evil" mantra needs to build a similarly capable domain control panel so we can all switch over.
Let's sue these fucks.
Posted about it too: http://is.gd/Wit
the problem is that they will not refund what i spent!
I had to pay bank commissions to pay with credit card...
this sucks
I have a bad feeling about this whole stuff. When I checked domain availability in the begining of the registration GoDaddy said it was available. After I had got these damn e-mails I spotted on auctions.domain.me, that some of these names are possible to buy on the auction.
I find it very disturbing and I have a few questions to ask.
1) In the "open" stage auction rules don't apply, do they? (the first the better, right?)
2) Is it possible that GoDaddy could show that domain is available even it was bought in earlier stage and now it is available only by auctioning?
3) Maybe godaddy made this auction after many requests on the same domain?
Please answer...
Only to have them stolen from me by GD.
Oh well GD gets to use many millions of other peoples money for a couple of days. They should make a nice chunk of change on the interest before they give back the refunds.
GD = God Damn in my book. They knew just what they were doing!
I registered interest in aweso.me in the landrush period and the auction is coming up in August. I don't know how you managed to get through GoDaddy to "purchase" it either. I looked it up and it told me aweso.me was unavailable.
I was pissed 'cause in the time it took Godaddy to process my purchase of weso.me (subdomains FTW) someone else got there first.
I wish I'd have thought of trying somewhere else myself, I just assumed that GoDaddy, being a big name, would be able to cope.
I've lost web-design.me and jewelry.me :|
So since they've caused me headache and hassle, I'm not waiting on the refund. I'm contesting each of my five or six charges with my credit card company. GoDaddy billed me $40/pop and failed to deliver anything but an e-mail saying they screwed up. I'm going to let them have the fun of dealing with my credit card company for the next few weeks to sort it out. Perhaps if the rest of you did the same thing..... :)
those of you who registered yesterday did it during the public registration. There are problems on both the land rush and the public registration processes.
Always did.
Now they offers refund, as if that was our problem not their. Stupid people.
I've bought 3 domains, one for my company, and I thought it was mine, and then later I received the failure mail, now it was registered for another person.
GoDaddy must die!
All the domains on the auction website were pre-registered between June 6-26 during the Land Rush period.
My expert opinion says that the .me whois didn't update the ownerships to the land rush domains which are scheduled for auction, since no one owns it yet, they are on reserve.
Conspiracy theories fail 100% of the time.
got an e-mail that the request to cancel domains have been approved (who the hell said they should cancel my domains????!)Apparently incorrect billng info was supplied (was 100% correct + made 100% sure there were enough funds) and my credit card was billed and my bank says the transactions were legit and went through!
drivers license, passport AND identity document e-mailed to them and I demand to know what they think they are doing.
first e-mail ticket #
4313399
minutes later sent another...4313745 = busy hey?!
4313745
seems a lot of people are asking questions....
The bad thing is you could "try" to register names which weren't available since landrush. Sooooo la.me!
I bought aweso.me like 6 weeks ago on Domainmonster.com for 100 bucks
It took 30 minute to process my order which interrupt few times. I hope it wont happen next Tlds golive. But for .me its gone!
Discussion Notes
Office of the President Response
Dear Richard Boyd,
Your correspondence has been directed to the Office of the President.
We understand you have concerns regarding the .ME registration process. We knew the .ME Open Registration response would be tremendous, but it went beyond even what we had expected. As a result, we experienced some system issues in our communication with the registry.
As soon as we became aware of the issue we began taking steps to correct it. It is now resolved. For our customers, if we did not successfully register the domain name requested they will receive a full refund.
Thank you for your understanding. If you have any further questions, please feel free to bring these to our attention.
Regards,
Luke Hintze

Anyone know of a lawyer to represent those who were affected ?
www.lastminute.me has received 13 bids on .me domain auctions and the current highest bid is $3,605
There must be something that can be done about this!
I brought 6 great domain names via Godaddy including www.sail.me and www.defend.me I was so happy when I registered them, I got the confirmation email and was on cloud 9. I took my wife and kids out for lunch to celebrate.
Later that evening I checked my mail to find all 6 failed to register †Already registered†This is bullshit, how is it possible that one company was allowed to register all the good names?

£5014 dollars later.......
cheers kevin.... godaddy.com can now afford to buy a new domain name....
Tim Marland from England :)
And the domain is too much expensive, it's not worthy 20 bucks.
They have the balls to suddenly refuse to allow anyone they choose to participate in the landrush auction for ME domains.
That's right, I work there, and have purchased at least 1 ME name during the landrush, May, June timeframe, along with may other coworkers there, and just last week they decided to refuse to let anyone there bid on them, even though they were legally paid for. No refund has been seen yet as they said all would get and if I still dont see it at the auction start time then they will get that lawsuit ramed up their tight snobby scottsdale asses in addition to harassment and any other employment related shyte that can be hammered to their cross. I plan on getting enough to retire on from the Parsons Project gang.
GODADDY is rippin ous off - who wants to take action????
