what about just adding 'from Geneva' or 'Dubai'to your e-mail :)

It's accurate - or confusing if you want it to be.

But of course, this technique completely lacks the geek factor!

Well it sounds nice, but i doubt will this feature in real be so sexy.
Gmail try to add new and new features, but it will be like with mobiles: we use less then half of avaialble features.
