I like Gmail and it amuses me when people are complaing about a little downtime on a completely free service. Yes, believe it or not, Google have downtime sometimes as well, who would have though, right?

I experienced a few issues with gmail and wasn't able to get a real answer as to why the sporadic outages. I've recently switched to zenbe email, so far so good.

OK one more thing I noted yesterday (Thursday). The emails that I received on Gmail had certain keywords not otherwise used regularly in my email. On the very same day, I was followed by at least 6 new spam Twitter users that had THE SAME keyword in their aliases. The keyword being "shine" and "rose." (Greetings, to be precise.)

So I'm being followed by: @Women_rose @girlbabygoog [note GOOG!] @coolshinerose @shinerosegirl

This doesn't look good to me. I did not use Twitter yesterday. Either my computer or Google is compromised.

It's interesting nobody points out (not just here, but in general) that hotmail has been down LESS than gmail over the past year, or the fact that hotmail, strictly when you're talking about moving through the inbox and initial load-up time, is now faster, cleaner, and simpler than the bogged-down-with-cool-features (albeit still fast) gmail. Yet, when hotmail did actually go down a couple of weeks ago, all the comments / blogs were screaming "gmail, this is why i use gmail!". And, just FYI, I love both gmail and hotmail.

Having two accounts, only one of my accounts was affected in the outage. Which, by the way only affected me for maybe 15 minutes or so.

Meanwhile, Twitter, usually a reliable medium for finding out if it’s “just me” or the Internet at-large, LOL how true.

I am still amazed at how unreliable their systems are, pathetic for a company with 50 million in investment!

I didn't have any trouble with Gmail today. I've been mailing constantly, without interruption. I did notice the Twitter delays though. But I think that's because f the whole race for 1 million ordeal.

OMG PANIC EVERYONE!!!

The GMail thing didn't hit me, but Twitter behind behind is a bit annoying; I would have been upset too had my GMail been down though, I rely on it so much now.

Outtages don't have to common place if hosting companies would fully manage the service, and proactively grow as required allowing for the burstable bandwidth required. That's why I like FireHost.com so much.
