Sounds great & may be I will have a look later - trouble is their is as you stress, just so much going on it is hard to keep up with it all.... be ok if i was at my desk all day but unfortunately I have many chores to accomplish!
  • Rob Vanasco · 7 months ago
from the user's point of view, it doesnt look too much different than my firefox window right now. but, i suppose if new contacts can view all these social sites in one place, then there is a use for it. it would be much easier to just add a link to this to a signature or business card rather than sending all these sites out to people.

This is great. I am on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, FriendFeed and several others. It gets confusing sometimes. This way I can just go down the tabs to make sure I keep track of everyone. :) Thanks!

9.3 By posting User Content to any part of the Website, including any third party service rendered “tabs”, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to GizaPage an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid up, worldwide licence including the right to sublicence, to use, copy, publicly perform, publicly display, reformat, translate, excerpt (in whole or in part) and distribute such User Content for any purpose.

How can this license clause do not clash with the other TOSs you agree upon when subscribing to other services? If I post content on site X because of its agreement that gives me control over sublicensing, why should I repost on GizaPage and actually re-license the content with a broader agreement?

    Or am I missing something?

I signed up for this and it looks way cool as a tool for me to be able to see everything at once in real time. I also like that you can post directly to the social networking sites from this interface. I would comment that the Twitter updates are very slow - and perhaps that is due to the amount of updates. Overall, I think it might be very useful! I don't have any friends signed up yet, so it will be interesting to see what that is like. I'm not really clear on what that interaction would be.
  • Dan · 7 months ago
I can't seem to sign up. Everything I try gets me a "we encountered an error - try again" message.
Is there any trick to what the inputs need to be?

    Maybe they're just having trouble.

With the proliferation of so many social media options, this organizer sounds like a great way to quickly find and connect with great people. And.. it recognizes and respects that we all have public and private lives.
  • igneousquill · 7 months ago
I tried to sign up for this several times this morning, but kept getting a bland fail page. Pretty crappy.
  • Mark H. Delfs · 7 months ago
Can't sign in either--seems to not want to send me the initial email and there is no way to resend this signup email. Great site.
  • nakedpizza · 6 months ago
cannot sign in as either - keep getting error page - and, of course, no email sent to inbox. plus, they do not seem to respond to email inquiries... sux.
  • Mark Hendy · 7 months ago
sadly I can't get the signup page to load.
  • AaronWagner7000 · 7 months ago
Wasn't able to sign in for a while. But once it finally allowed me to sign in, I started using it and adding all my social profiles. I must admit that I really like this service so far. Seems to have some really good potential and a promising future.

Didn't find it so impressive when compared to chi.mp. Chi.mp provides a openid feature for you and other cool stuff.

Hello everyone, I work at GizaPage - first of all, thanks for your enthusiastic response to our launch!

Due to overload, we have been facing some difficulties in ensuring a quick and successful signup for everyone. Severely embarassing, and part of our learning curve, no doubt. We are working on the issue, and will update you shortly. Thanks again for your support!

HI Ramsub. I think its looking great...just one thing. I added a couple of customised links...one to google profiles (which worked) and one to myspace music...which didn't, as it opens fullscreen. So now i cant get to the 'delete tab' button to get rid of it. My fault i know for trying to get it to do more then its probably supposed to (sorry)...but is there any other way to get rid of it? I think its got loads of potential though.
  • Ramsub Mahadevan · 7 months ago
Phil, thanks a lot for the kind words, and hope you have a great time using GizaPage! We will take a look at the Myspace profile - specific web sites sometimes behave slightly strangely.

And of course, while you are being very generous to us in our days of pimply youth, it is definitely our job to ensure that you do not face any problems using the site! :) We will keep you posted on this. Meanwhile, to delete the MySpace profile, you can do the following:
    1. Sign in to GizaPage at http://www.gizapage.com
    2. Click "Control the viewing of my public profiles" from the "I Want To" menu
    3. Delete the MySpace profile by clicking the associated trashcan icon

Thanks once again! - ramsub, GizaPage

Seems like a cool service... if I could create an account! It errored on me a bunch of times, and now I can't use my email address. ("A giza page for this email has been created, please use another email ID" - btw what's an "email ID"?)
As Mark commented - great site. :s
  • Ramsub Mahadevan · 7 months ago
Hello everyone, thanks for your patience - we have been able to resolve the signup issue. Please go ahead and start using GizaPage!

If you face any problems, or have comments/suggestions, please mail us at feedback@gizapage.com.

Thanks once again! - ramsub, GizaPage

I know of another 2 ssocial aggregrator that does the same thing, but it slips my mind now as to who they are, unfortunately. In any case prominent in my mind is the fact that one of the start-ups has not updated their service since 2007. I've been looking for a service like this that makes it easy for me to just show off all my profiles without letting my visitors click through each one from my social aggregrator....this is a great update, and will totally consider this!
  • Trin · 7 months ago
Actually....I raise a few points of concern, though perhaps its an anomaly considering that perhaps too many reflects the kind of TOS GizaPages exhbites.... but I still am a little antsy about it. The TOS of GizaPage includes the following cluases:

"6.1 You agree that the Website and its contents, including but not limited to the text, images, graphics, audio-visuals, videos, artworks, imaging, positioning, use or combination of colours, images, combination of fonts, together with all information and data posted herein are exclusive properties of Giza, and Giza hereby asserts and retains its ownership of the Website and its contents, irrespective of the form and manner in which its copies may exist. All documentation as appearing on this Website are copyrighted and protected under applicable proprietary laws. "

"9.3 By posting User Content to any part of the Website, including any third party service rendered “tabs”, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to GizaPage an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid up, worldwide licence including the right to sublicence, to use, copy, publicly perform, publicly display, reformat, translate, excerpt (in whole or in part) and distribute such User Content for any purpose"

This is as of 2:28 pm EST May 12, 2009, from the signup page. The main references i'm concerned about pertains to "Content". Now, I understand that since we're using others' servers, since its *their* servers, on a basic level we really do not have control to how our data is used...nevertheless, I would like to see respect given to our data, which is why the recent controversies related to Facebook and how it was resolved to the satisfaction of users, and the way Chi.mp chooses to function with their emphasis of "users owning their own data" is really important....and also really opposite to what I am seeing with GazaPages here.

I would say GazaPages would need to rewrite their TOS, or clarify what they mean by "Content" by including it in their TOS, before I am comfortable signing up with this service.

I just read this over. Egads, I couldnt spell in that. *blushes* Sorry!
  • MarlaMae · 7 months ago
I just created a page on GizaPage, and I can't add any of my Social Networks... I'll try back later, but right now, I'm a little disappointed
  • Ramsub Mahadevan · 6 months ago
Hello Marla, just wanted to check whether you could not find the right social networks in the GizaPage list ... we have an "Others" entry in the list which can be used to add profiles on other social networks. You would need to provide the profile URL, and can provide a tab title and tab logo.

Wherever possible, we request the username, and construct the URL within GizaPage. In case you were unable to add profiles from the listed networks, please let us know at feedback@gizapage.com. We will work with you to solve the problem(s). Thanks once again for trying out GizaPage! - ramsub, GizaPage

why should I use such a thing? Isn't it all about letting different people see different aspect of your life?
  • Ramsub Mahadevan · 6 months ago
Kfir, would agree with you ... in GizaPage we have three levels of control for viewing profiles, share with everyone (Public), share with friends (Connections) and do not share (Private).

Personally, I use my GizaPage more privately, with only a few profiles shared, but several friends and colleagues seem fine with sharing pretty much all their profiles with everyone.

Never before in the history of mankind has it been easier to reach out to people all over the world. Online communitieslike MySpace, make meeting new friends with similar interests incredibly easy. MySpace is a great place to share tips, ideas and stories about the things you find most interesting. If you have a question about your hobby, you can easily find the answer through your network of members with similar interests.

Whatever Gizapage uses for importing LinkedIn contacts it needs to be careful. We offer the same facility on our site and got a Cease and Desist notice from LinkedIn, claiming we were using their servers in an unauthorised manner and asking their users to breach their terms by sharing login credentials.

It was resolved successfully between us, but they come down hard on people trying take their contacts away from LinkedIn using online tools, even though they use the very same tools to encourage their users to bring contacts over from Hotmail, Google et al.
