Mashable - The Social Media Guide: Free Food! Just Follow Pizza Hut on Twitter or Facebook

  • josh · 5 months ago
It's not free if you have to buy a whole pizza at menu price first :) why do this when I can get 3 pizzas for 5 dollars each at dominoes?

    This deal sucks.
  • Adam Ostrow · 5 months ago
because that means you have to eat Domino's, lol. Not a huge fan of Pizza Hut either. The only chain I really like is Papa John's.
  • People Search · 5 months ago
I like Papa Johns too, but Pizza Hut will do too. =)
  • Daniel_Honigman · 5 months ago
I take it Virginia doesn't have many non-chain pizza joints?

If I offer something free via Twitter will you write it up real big on Mashable, too?
  • G-NIUS · 5 months ago

Very interesting to see Yum Brands do another free food promotion through twitter, as from a supply chain perspective, it is questioned whether the free promotion was the right promotion. BOGO was even mentioned as a future solution and better promotion for the stock out problem. We have discussed this on our IBF linkedin group as an organization who provides education on supply chain and demand planning and have planned a one hour webcast for next Tuesday June 30th at 1pm est Webinar: Why Do Marketing Promotions Make Balancing Supply and Demand Difficult? While most organizations focus on managing supply to projected demand, how many manage demand to projected supply? How important is it to include the supply side in promotional planning?

Neat way to get followers! Ill consider, offering free dance lessons in my studio the same way. But don't rush people, the ticket to Greece is expensive.

is it only for america? :/
  • Christine · 5 months ago
Organics companies should do the same thing - then people would have free real food.

I'll pass. This doesn't sound like a very good offer. And I've only heard negative comments from Social Media people I respect that Pizza Hut gave Twittering responsibilities to an intern. I guess interacting with consumers on social networks ranks right up there with making copies & taking lunch orders.

I deleted it today as there was no free food code yesterday for stuffed pizza rolls. My comments were full with other stuff from mashable. Where is the free pizza rolls?
  • Jeannine Buckenmyer · 5 months ago
Your deal stinks! Having to spend $25+ for some pizza rolls-you didn't learn a thing from KFC.
  • MikeR · 5 months ago
Yeah, then follow your heart surgeon on Twitter.

Lame! Why would you cover this if you didn't get compesated from yumm.

We're too fat already. This food is death in a bucket.
  • RussiaModels · 5 months ago
Free food would be nice if it was good food. I gues you still get what you pay for. We could call it "sometimes" food too I guess.
  • bradleyf81 · 5 months ago
So in other words it's not free at all. It's just a load of crap and like any coupon you can get in the local newspaper or find stuck to your doorknob or under your windshield wiper? Nice one Pizza Hut. Your pizza sucks anyways. Go Papa John's!

America has been called a "fast food nation" and for good reason. Everyday, one out of four Americans eats fast food. If you are eating out, fast food restaurants are often the cheapest option, but unfortunately, not usually the healthiest one.
