Mafia Wars was one of the first I enjoyed, I was kind of late on Farmville and Cafe World. Would give Fishville a look at. It shouldn't surprise you that so many people play games on facebook like Farmville and Cafe World and Mafia Wars, the numbers speak for themselves. There are a few liars and pretenders who want to be seen as detached and "too busy", "too intelligent" to indulge in social gaming. Mashable's staff and part time contributors understandably wouldn't have time to play any of these, but really a lot of people are playing them.

Surely you should know that publishing one-line profile stories without the user’s permission is a very old Facebook feature and does not require user approval. It’s completely within policies and a lot of apps have been doing it since the early days of the platform.

You realize they're not the only one. Look at Happy Aquarium or the countless other games.
You're right, they're not being creative, but who in our society is? They're going for what's popular because it will get them money. It takes more time and money to convince people to do something they havent done before than it does to just rebrand an idea that everyone loves.

this is just a pethetic copy of the other games. just like cafe world is a copy of restaurant city etc, except cafe world is pethetic, you cant even decorate without it taking forever to lay tiles or walls because it makes you grab the tile each time, and you have to sell things ONE at a time. SO stupid. The copies are starting to get stupid. Zygna just tries to outdo the next guy but they FAIL. Playfish games are still way better. Zygna just starting being a money making scam with things you need being cash only for the games. Its all lame, I quit playing everything after they changed the yoville to ovens and if you arent back in time it all burns. its all stupid and not even fun anymore. I say zygna you suck for doing nothing but copy everyone and scam money

Exactly, everything they make is a rip off of another game, only they completely ruin it. I don't play any of Zyngas games because they're a money hungry company and have the most pathetic customer support. You have no idea how many people have been scammed from their poker game or whatever it is because all of their chips and sometimes real money suddenly "disappeared" Zynga you're pathetic

I logged in to Fishville for the first time yesterday and liked it a lot. Really bummed to find it offline today and hoping my little fishies aren't dead. LOL. I think anyone who thinks they can sign up for something "for free" for game credits is probably a little naive. I only play for free, so the recent kerfuffle wouldn't apply to me at all.

I find it unbelievable that anyone actually plays these games. It's like when you meet someone who seems perfectly smart and reasonable, and then you find out they are Scientologists and are into Multi-level marketing.
It was fun while it lasted. I think it was up for a whopping 1/2 day, and has been down all weekend. What an extremely poor way for a huge developer to launch a game to a HUGE audience.
