But you still cannot comment on them directly in Facebook or like them. And that's where the magic of Friend<del>book</del>Feed starts. It's all about conversation.

What makes Facebook's implementation more powerful than Friendfeed's is the newsfeed algo' that will only show your friends select stories from your feed.

You can add all the events in your feed that you want and Facebook will make sure to show the right amount to the right people so no one is overwhelmed.

    Adam,

Nice piece. Good analysis. I really think the Aggregator space is heating up. Why? As the Social Web opens up and many thousands of sites become socially-enabled, Aggregators, like Plaxo Pulse, FriendFeed, and Facebook will serve a vital function of social discovery and the convenience of a single, simple interface for staying on top of what your friends and family are creating and sharing online.

the problem with facebook's news feed, though, is that if you have lots of friends, facebook won't show you all of the stories. you can tweak your preferences all you want but you're still going to miss something. the facebook news feed is a pretty poor aggregator in that regard.
