I never violated any of their code of conduct but I just couldnt understand why all of a sudden my account was disabled.

I wrote FB about it but to this day, I haven't receive any response from their team. Please help. I can't make another account. My friends are there and that's where I have met a lot of my long lost friends.

Re: Facebook: Over 3 Million Usernames Claimed

What's the male:female ratio @ the Facebook team?? It is likely that they did that to enforce a generalised rule to prevent squatting. It would be far easier than having a list of acronyms.

However, I am only speculating here, I could be wrong.

Re: Facebook: Over 3 Million Usernames Claimed

You're basing your estmate of the number of women employees on a set of party photos? Kee-rist, if facebook had some something normal like this in the first place, like every other social networking site, like pretty much every other site on the net, this wouldn't be an issue. Facebook is an abomination on the internet and I'll be delighted when something else takes its place as the next big thing.

Re: Facebook: Over 3 Million Usernames Claimed

Hold on a sec, you said:

"By 10:01 PM PT, full hour after release, around one million custom URLs had been claimed. That’s an average of 278 usernames per minute or so."

An hour after release... 60 minutes in an hour, so it's 1,000,000/60 = most definitely not 278. More like 16,667 usernames a minute.

Re: Facebook: Over 3 Million Usernames Claimed

Holy Mashable dude, that is insane!

RT
www.absolute-anonymity.us.tc

Re: Facebook: Over 3 Million Usernames Claimed

the guitar hero room is brilliant.

Re: Facebook: Over 3 Million Usernames Claimed

Any special reason why Facebook or Linkedin doesn't allow us to choose usernames consisting of less than 5 characters?
