im having the same problem and decided what FACEBOOK had to say - no the just the less than average person
they said:

"My News Feed is not displaying in chronological order.

Two hours ago, my News Feed was really weird. Now I can't even sign on to Facebook. It says, "Account Unavailable. Your account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance. It should be available again within a few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience."

My Status Updates from last week have all disappeared on my profile - but only when I'm logged in as myself. They are there as normal when I log in using a Friend's data.
As for new Status Updates: they show for 1 second, then they disappear (when using my own log in data) - but they all do show up in the News Feed....

My FB news feed has stopped altogether. I have friends abd relatives who post every day yet I have not had an update in days. A few weeks ago old deleted news feeds kept reappearing now I don't get any at all.

Recently, in addition to suffering from Facebook feed Déjà vu, I have also experiencing other posting difficulties. Some time I wan't able to enter any post, or I couldn't find any of my posts. The option setting for my News feed never works, it tells me there are hidden post, but when I click the option button it tells me there is nothing been hidden.

News Feeds used to show everything but after a little while, nothing. Tells me to add more friends so I can see info in the news feed. Funny thing is, if I add back a hidden APP, the nes feeds reappear for a little while but will eventually disappear again. I can click on the Links/Status Updates/Photos on the left side and see everything...but not everything in the main news feed like I used to. Annoying as hell and I cannot believe FB hasnt fixed this issue yet.

Some people's status updates are missing from my feed. My feed has been weird for a couple of weeks, with status updates that are a few days old appearing as if they're new, and some current status updates not showing up.

I think its a dodgy app called fan check. if you have used this app or have been tagged in on of the pictures it produces then you must delete the app and/or untag yourself from all fancheck produced pictures.
