I was told the same thing, remove the fancheck application as it has a virus, I did that and untagged myself from friends fancheck but still have problems. Maybe it was a virus that has done some damage already?

No it's definitely not the fancheck virus, because i've been suffering as well and i have not been anywhere near the fancheck application or been tagged in any pictures put up by the application. Apparantly theres a new layout to facebook coming soon so it may be problems with them updating the site

Thank you SO MUCH! Thought I was going crazy or victim of some whacked out virus or something (and that may be the case, but still).
My news feed has been showing the same feeds, no right-hand feed of photos/posts, and no options to show older posts or to view my own wall/status updates. It comes back every few refreshes or so, but just really annoying.
On the iGoogle widget, however, feed is fine. So must be w/in main facebook page?
hope it gets fixed, but again good to know that others are enjoying this annoyance. Thanks!!!

Thank you for being so relevant and reporting this! So it isn't just me having this issue. I wonder if it could be linked to that "fanpage" app used to check and see who your biggest fans or stalkers of your page are. Today I heard that the app should be deleted because it plants a virus on your FB page in 24-48 hours. However, I was not having trouble with my news feeds until I removed that app. Hmmm....

Some of those problems have been going on for weeks. Further, this weekend, several of my FB friends disappeared completely from my view, although they could log on and see their own page. When one of those posted on my page, the comment was there, but no picture or identifying information was showing. For several hours yesterday, a long series on comments on one of my status updates disappeared from my view, but could be seen by others visiting my page. Emails from Facebook now take several hours to show up, as do notifications. On and on and on. Disappointing. </rant>

It is acting VERY weird. I had posts (friends, news, etc.) showing this morning then at 11 a.m., they disappeared and the last post showing was from a friend at 11:13 p.m. last night. Each time I click "home" posts show up, then the next time I refresh, the go away. It is very strange...and a bit frustrating.

Facebook today is like Groundhog Day--the same news feeds over and over. Completely unusable for anything for me. Facebook has no mechanism for feedback or contact of anything else--they're sort of living in a fool's paradise with no real communication from their users. This doesn't look like it has a good future.

yes, been happening for a few days now. huge chunks of time go missing on FaceBonk. Earlier it was only showing a few posts from over 8 hours ago. Now is showing a few posts from the last hour then a gap of about 12 hours - hitting Ctrl+F5 gets a different selection of posts every time - still, this has happened before, a few weeks ago - i'm sure they'll fix it eventually, they usually do - still, a tad irritado

Apart from disappearing a couple of times, this cured on 'reload', It's not my Facebook Tumblr Newsfeed Application thats recking havoc. It's this new HTML Source Editor and it's associated 'Preview' Application. It's good to know it's not personal, however.

Despite this happening to my facebook feed, it's fairly fixable...at least for me.
When I notice it starting to be messed up, I just reselect the news feed from the top left...ish. Simply reloading facebook, or returning to my homepage doesn't seem to fix it, but I've yet to have a time where reloading the news feed deliberately didn't fix the problem.
I know that seems absurd....but here we are.

I am missing 2.5 days. It leaps from 58 minutes ago to Friday. Pesky Mercury went retrograde Friday night and will go direct on the 29th. It is interesting how it feels like getting the morning paper without entire sections. Wish I could call the newspaper carrier and ask for a new one. It's more than the news feed for me, it's all of Facebook. As I just said on Twitter, "Am I banned from Facebook today or what? Every time I go to log in, it's as if I'm trying to get into a trendy nightclub in sweatpants."
It's the dreaded pink error message that keeps popping up, saying there's some sort of maintenance with my account. Who knows. I'd sure love to see it resolved quickly, though.

I'm not having any problems with the news feed but my facebook profile has been displaying an "unavailable" error message since usernames were rolled out, around early June I think. Facebook support has not replied to any of the multiple bug reports I've sent. I'm really not impressed with their service, for obvious reasons.

Not only is my news feed on the blink (intermittently shows only posts from a sev days to a week ago, then shows todays if I log out and back in) but if I click on a friend's name from the news feed it doesn't go to their page AND deletes all their posts from the news feed - you guys have a really big problem, better get on top of it as I'm def. not the only one experiencing this. You also need a better system for reporting problems.

Facebook will tell me there are 19 new posts. I click to get them, and get the same posts I already had (the most recent being several hours old), but no longer any message about new posts. For what it's worth, I noticed last night that I was getting old news feeds and I thought it was weird so I logged out. Now I can't log back in at all...not even on my iphone. I get a message stating "Account Unavailable Your account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance. It should be available again within a few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience". I'm hoping this message is a sign that the Facebook people are on it and are fixing the issue. Although, I've been trying to log on for about 5 hours now.

Same - my feed is all over the map. Whenever I revisit it from another page it's entirely different with posts from various dates over the last two weeks. Also entirely different depending on the browser. Also having problems sending message using IE8: simply no send button and the To: box goes off the right side of the pop-up box. Message work fine in Chrome though. Am in France right now in case that makes any difference (i.e. have people in different parts of the world experienced something different). Love the idea of the status page.

Workaround - don't click the "x new stories" link that appears at the top of the feed. Just click your "home" link instead, and it'll load the new stories properly.

I've been getting this and recommend the following: 1. Click on the "Home Page" button at the top of the facebook page. 2. If that doesn't work, try it again. No luck? 3. reload/refresh the page. Still bad? 4. go to your mailbox or your profile then back to your home page.

LOL - QUOTE 'a minor inconvenience' NO! the whole idea of the website revolves around the feeds. Especially for the game feeds such as Mafia wars. With the feeds broken you may as well close down the site! It would not take two seconds to knock up a clour coded Status Legend at the top of the feed page. It's like the displaying of Frienfeed data in Facebook some days ago: Many old data was displayed in FB. Maybe this messy because of the same reason, FB and FF are trying to do something in the lab?

I added some people for app games & tried to set up the privacy rules ALL day before it finally took but, that's the only thing it finally did. The rest of the day I haven't been able to do anything without getting kicked out or slow feeds - apparently the same thing that everyone's going through. I sure hope it gets fixed soon!

FB has screwed up my photo album! After showing the pics for several weeks, they are now not showing up! Only the comments about the photos are showing up. And of course, FB has no one to complain to...just their FAQs, which are basically useless. WHERE ARE MY PHOTOS??? They only show up if I "edit" them.

Yes, the News Feed has been intermittently broken all day, in a way that suggests that they're playing with the code, and it leaked into production.
Items will be sorted in odd orders, instead of reverse-chron, hidden items will be displayed, non-hidden items won't; hitting F5 to refresh will sometimes bring up a normal page, sometimes bring up the same broken page you had, and sometimes bring up a *different* broken page.
I wish someone would remind them that AJAX doesn't have to be used *everywhere*; base pages can still be sent in their entirety.

For me, it started last week then it stopped a few hours later. Then it started again now.
I think every service online must have a status page. It could be status.something.com or something.com/status/ (or they can just redirect one to the other).
I haven't been able to log in to facebook for four days, the login screen just freezes.

This morning, this problem has struck me again ... in a new form: the newsfeed keeps telling me I have no items to display, AND NO FRIENDS. When I go to directly edit the newsfeed, only three peopel show up ... out of over a hundred. :(

Oh, and in a possibly-related issue: one of the games I play, "Mafia Wars", is having trouble sending/accepting Join requests; people I know I've added as friends send in-game Join requests, and when I accept them ... the app reports that "we're not friends".

Yes, I am having problems with my posts from my iPhone and my computer no matching. If I post, comment or delete something from the phone it sometimes doesn't show up on computer and visa versa. The MOST frustrating part is that there is nobody to talk to at FB!

Facebook has gradually been going crazy over the past week. Yesterday it timed me out after I was looking at something in another window for like 5 minutes, gave me the Facebook white screen of death when trying to load the homepage, news feeds are sporadically going back in time, and then there's that stupid developer idea of notifying everyone when anyone writes anything on a discussion board you've posted on in the past 2 years! Annoying!

I noticed this article a few days ago but hadn't had this problem until just now. My news feed is out of chronological order and not refreshing. The news feed filters are not working correctly either. I'll keep checking back to see if it's been fixed, but until it is, I'm off to twitter.
So far, there's no acknowledgement by Facebook on its own Facebook page that anything's even amiss.

I think its a dodgy app called fan check. if you have used this app or have been tagged in on of the pictures it produces then you must delete the app and/or untag yourself from all fancheck produced pictures.

News Feeds used to show everything but after a little while, nothing. Tells me to add more friends so I can see info in the news feed. Funny thing is, if I add back a hidden APP, the nes feeds reappear for a little while but will eventually disappear again. I can click on the Links/Status Updates/Photos on the left side and see everything...but not everything in the main news feed like I used to. Annoying as hell and I cannot believe FB hasnt fixed this issue yet.

My Status Updates from last week have all disappeared on my profile - but only when I'm logged in as myself. They are there as normal when I log in using a Friend's data. My news feed has been showing the same feeds, no right-hand feed of photos/posts, and no options to show older posts or to view my own wall/status updates. It comes back every few refreshes or so, but just really annoying.
On the iGoogle widget, however, feed is fine. So must be w/in main facebook page?

Sometimes profile pictures don't show up. Pages slow to load, multiples of things, things missing.
Repeats and out-of-orders I can live with. It's losing the whole feed that's a problem for me.

When I notice it starting to be messed up, I just reselect the news feed from the top left...ish. Simply reloading facebook, or returning to my homepage doesn't seem to fix it, but I've yet to have a time where reloading the news feed deliberately didn't fix the problem.
