SenderOK is also a European startup. This email plugin sorts email with a smart algorithm based on how you and others have handled a sender's email before + whether you visited the sender's domain website recently, etc. SenderOK also has a cool photo business card that appears inside email header panes and preview panes. This can link to social networks or to a cardbox backend for the service itself.

I received a beta invite to Prezi some time back and had an excellent opportunity to use it while giving a general presentation. It's a fun tool. And everyone was pretty much wowed. :) Give it a try if you haven't yet.

If anything, I'd say that it's crucial now more than ever for sponsors to back events like these. Especially ones that garner as much coverage and audience as Next Web.

I can confirm that, as the co-founder of Aroxo, we applied online and pitching to TNW like everyone else. The guys I dealt with were completely above board and there is no relationship between us or Aroxo with The Next Web.

Other than the fact that I read the blog, of course!

I am co-founder at Quick.tv one of the startups selected for the event. I can assure you I/we have no relationship with the organisers and The Next Web have no "special interest". We applied alongside everyone else and then were shortlisted to conducted a 15 minute phone/screen cast demo to the guys at Next Web.

I am looking forwarding to the event and think this criticism is unfair.

Silly names for social networks that mostly do not reflect the purpose.
How many more "irl connect" and "collaboration tools" do we need? This ain't innovation, it's copy existing solutions with no obvious enhancement.

I -do- think that the "Mimic Media" clothing 3D software looks promising. But hey, why not just use Second Life for that.

a source of mine has found out that the organisation has special interest in some of the start-ups, seeing there is no wow factor in the innovation of some of the start-ups. It make's you think, if you can take next web seriously, because it could just be a money making scam.
The expertise of the organisation can't be for filling if you have special interest in attending this conference and getting something out of it! It's also to be said that this could be the last year some of the sponsors will be working with next web.
