Maybe there are some rational politicians out there after all. Freedom of the internet should be a basic right. However, there are responsibilities that come along with this freedom. For instance, it's up to the individual to keep their privacy and data secure. That's a main reason I visit this* digital security site.

I wish I lived in the EU. Things are so paranoid about file sharing here that I use a secure IM to share files with my friends, its called Brosix, and that way we can share music without any problems. I know some people who have, in the past, been bumped for sharing their own (they created it, not they bought it) music.

The private corps are spinning their wheels trying to stop file sharing. They should be thinking of ways to use it to their benefit.

If you're talking about people getting stuff without the artist being paid then it is wrong. No way to rationalize it, really. Got a 15 year old daughter who d/ls 3gigs per month. No one could possibly listen to that much music.

It is theft, plain and simple.

This is how I felt about the RIAA forcing ISP's to enforce sharing laws on their customers, so good for the EU for standing against the rigidity and customer-negative practices of these type of policies.

Awesome! I'm glad to see that there are still people in power who are focused on the people. The French on the other hand, well what hasn't been said about the French - great health care though.
