Mashable - The Social Media Guide: Droid Does: Verizon Launches Anti-iPhone Ad for Motorola Droid [Video]

  • Matthew Lowery · 1 month ago
Apple need to do some serious updates.
  • matthew_maurice · 1 month ago
I guess if you have a flash and constantly running apps you'll need a replaceable battery. Everyone will carry one or two in their pockets at all times for when their Droid goes dead after an hour. Plus, I'm sure the line of people who can't wait to run "widgets" will reach around the block at Verizon stores everywhere.

    b/c iPhone's battery lasts so long? Don't leave home w/o a charger!
  • Richard Soper · 1 month ago
    AHAHAHAHAHAHA. I love it.
  • Name · 1 month ago
yeah, this is a terrible ad. laughable really. the ending makes it look like a second rate video game!
  • WallMountedHDD · 1 month ago
It was a good ad. Most of the people attacking it just don't like fact that it hates on their precious iFad.
  • Name · 1 month ago
The ads terrible concept has nothing to do with iPHone fanaticism, it's terrible all on it's own.
  • Dude · 1 month ago
Yep. One of those kooky fads like the iPod and the Apple OS Windows copied 20 years ago. Boy, its a good thing those fads don't last.
  • Man · 1 month ago
No, it's a very boring and ineffective ad. It's more like the people who claim to love it just like the idea that it agrees with their anti-Apple hatertardation. That's enough for some people.
  • ruggedspud · 1 month ago
terrible ad. They are bringing up the hype on a phone that cant deliver. Everyone who wastes their money will see that.
  • popfuze · 1 month ago
What? I thought the ad was good. It showed what the iPhone can do and it looks cool.
  • Name · 1 month ago
What the iPhone *can't* do, you mean.
  • Suezanne · 1 month ago
I hope the device is better than the ad.

yeah ur kidding right?! Apple holds over 70% of the global smartphone marketshare, and they are known for their customer satisfaction! get ur facts straight! if anything verizon will crash and burn!
  • sfgsdfg · 1 month ago
apple sucks for being a hypocrite company accusing microsoft of monopoly while they try to make their own F them plus apple is for fashion idiots and not smart people.

example:some one approaches a retarded emo kid and says you buy a piece of S for 3000 or buy a super PC for half. so the emo kid says i like the preeetty one!!!!!!
  • screw231 · 1 month ago
wow... again with the monopoly... and the emo kid thing... I have a feeling your IQ is off the charts... you come up with such good arguments... and your spelling is flawless...
  • Name · 1 month ago
At least this ad doesn't have some smug fag saying "Hi, I'm a Mac"

Do any of those ads show what the Mac can do, instead of ripping the PC? If you iPhone fanboys got your butt hurt over this ad...GROW UP. Apple had anti-Microsoft ads for years... it's about time Steve BloJobs took something up the arse...he can take it, he got a new liver (from a Chinese prisoner no less)
  • Zoull · 1 month ago
huuhooo...!!! good i love its... hope it more cheap and fun than iphone!!!
  • Abdul Baqi · 1 month ago
would it be cheaper than iphone?
  • nik · 1 month ago
effective ad: memorable, likeable and it sure knows where to punch.

hopefully the Droid will live up to the ad...the iPhone REALLY needs some stiff competition.
  • Name · 1 month ago
Actually not an effective ad. Joe Public could care less about "open development" much less even know that the hell that means. Widgets? Concurrent applications? This means nothing to anyone but a small percentage of people. Very bad ad.
  • AM · 1 month ago
Yeah, such a bad ad, look all over the web and it's all people are talking about.

Buzz, good OR bad = GOOD AD

It's really silly of them doing such a video just to 'warn' Apple.inc that they wanna compete with them for the big $$, I'm predicting that Verizon's gonna get negative comments about this...
  • dagoeglein · 1 month ago
    Are you for real???

Apple has been making these "competing" ads for years and everything thinks it's hilarious. Someone is finally creating something to compete with them and they make one commercial that simply brings out the weaknesses in the iPhone... Apple deserves every negative message they get sent their way.
  • 3GSer · 1 month ago
That's is such a lie. You have never heard apple mention anybodies name in a commercial. You find one and I'll eat sh!t. You know they just talk about what they do. That phone isn't gonna be sh!t and you know it. Watch. Stop tryin to justify they're jealousy.
  • getitfosho · 1 month ago
So when did Verizon ever mention Apple? Never. iEnterWordHere isn't even copyrighted, let alone attributed to apple, you may have missed the iblank until the ipod came out. It's the same style of ad as the Mac vs PC ads... answer me this, what other OS has more than 10 million users? Windows.
  • alanowski · 1 month ago
    I'm a Mac.

    And, I'm a PC.....
  • wth · 1 month ago
first off it's "their" not "they're". and it's not jealousy it's capitalism. don't like it? then GTFO
  • dagoeglein · 1 month ago
sounds like some people have an somethin (probably an iphone) stuck up "their" butt. and I am not jealous of anything bud; I don't need to own an ipod to feel cool or complete like some people apparently do. just nice to see someone stand up to them and call them out for once, because they HAVE been doing the same thing for a couple years now.
  • adude12345 · 1 month ago
looks like you got to eat sh!t cause they refer to the pc in every single anti pc retarded commercial. where did verizon mention apple or iphone in the commercial.

When a whole campaign about a phone is geared towards highlight another phone's "faults" you know you have no competition. In other words, instead of saying how great their "droid phone" is, they try to make the biggest competitor seem faulty. Even if I didn't have an iPhone, just by judging from their ads, I would buy their phone. Try to make something worthy of competing, instead of trying to bring down innovation.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not a religious iPhone user, I do like my phone, but more than that, I hate people trying to bring it down because they can't do better.
  • Craig Morrison · 1 month ago
Don't you remember the iPhone announcement when Apple (for good reason) compared the device to Blackberries and Window Mobile phones?
  • Anderson Mccutcheon · 1 month ago
    Ever seen Apple's ads ?
  • Name · 1 month ago
Hmmmm.....are you talking about those I'm a Mac ads? Sure sounds like you are.
  • Name · 1 month ago
Interesting...so you're telling me that Apple's current ads with the "mac vs. PC" isn't an ad "geared towards highlighting another's faults"??? That's Apple's entire campaign.
  • tourn · 1 month ago
Um, where have you been ? Mudslinging has been around since the dinosauar's, and your precious apple use's this tactic as well with their mac vs. pc campaign. Sounds like it's more of a pride thing with you, like you pissed your gonna be one-upped. Well, fact is everything gets out dated, out done, ect. What might be top of the line tech one month will seem totally old the next month, especially with phones. Your just an isnob nub.

  • BostonBevs · 1 month ago
I have been a long time windows mobile user, short time andriod user, who just gave the iPhone a 2nd chance. iPhone runs simultaneous applications just fine, loads webpages and applications quicker, and has a great UI. People complain about pricing and contracts, which is exactly the same cost with any device that has a full web browser, pushed email, and unlimited data on At&t.

Overall, I feel the issue is that a many iPhone users (considering it is the majority of the smartphone market) basically do not understand the technical side of the device in their hands and the capabilities of other devices that rival it, which is a reason that advertisements like the MotoDroid can effectively spark interest in the iPhone users mind.
  • Craig Morrison · 1 month ago
I'm not sure where you get the impression that the iPhone runs simultaneous applications fine. Only a few official applications (the iPod app for example) multi-task. Even Apple admits this when they try to justify their push notification system.

It does a good job of simulating multi-tasking in many cases but there are plenty of situations where it falls short too.
  • vijay · 1 month ago
I would have higher hopes from them had they not started off the campaign with the worst rip of the Transformers movie title sequence ever, right down to a crappier version of the metallic sound (the droiddoes segment of the ad).
  • Rob_Brady · 1 month ago
As a product designer, the device images leave me cold. It's not just about commercializing technology, the gold is to be found with "humanizing" technology. The GUI needs to be off the charts memorable, updateable, and most certainly worthy of follow on conversations- suprise the market by suprisibg the user. Good luck- really. Competition makes everyone better.
  • camkevbell · 1 month ago
With Apple reeling from all the damage the Pre did to their marketshare, this phone might just take them the rest of the way down.

  • screw231 · 1 month ago
hello verizon employee... how much do they pay you to surf comment pages and reply to people who don't agree with verizons point of view?
  • i hate screw231 · 1 month ago
you do realize your being a hypocrit by calling him out for something that you yourself are doing
  • luis · 1 month ago
yo screw231 u might like apple but its for little emo kids and cuttie pie girls that need a software that wont let them F it up cause their so dumb.

And apple fans have no say for ads that make their precious little apple devices look like the pieces of CR@P they are when they do the same to windows which started the whole graphical OS thing so i think its about time someone stood up to apple the dirty playing basterds that need ads to make the competition look bad....

acussing microsoft of being a monopoly while trying to make your own is being a hypocrite.
  • screw231 · 1 month ago
Hi Luis... I have no idea why I can't reply directly to your post so I guess this will have to do. Accusing apple fans of being dumb is fine... but if we are talking about dumb let me take a moment to correct you... I'll do it all in one line... cutie* because* they are* bastards* accusing*... As for being an emo kid... I am not nor have I ever been... I just enjoy using a computer that doesn't need to have virus protection run every day to help the computer continue running like it should. I agree apple shouldn't be using commercials to make microsoft look bad... it is a waste of money on apple's part... since microsoft does and excellent job of making themselves look bad. as for the entire last line... what are you talking about? monopoly? who mentioned monopoly?
  • screw231 · 1 month ago
you named yourself I hate screw231? nice... do you hate me as much as some people on here hate apple? if so... I must be doing something right.

Whoa, sounds like we got a string of mud slinging hatin' mud slingers here. But that's ok let it out.
Mac and Microsoft are both bar setters and ground breakers in the computing world. As far as the iPhone is concerned, it's obvious by it's sheer popularity that Apple did something right. Whether that was setting a new mark in smart phone technology or ingenious advertising, you can't ignore the impact of this great devise. Bring on the competition! That will make the fire burn hotter on both ends and take technology beyond our imagination. I can't wait to see how the Droid does even though I am partial to the iPhone. (yes call me a list of names, I deserve it)
  • Jenna Patrick · 1 month ago
That was a great ad, simple and straight to the point. However, I think it might be a little unfair considering that the Iphone has been out for a while. Surely, Apple will come out with something new soon enough.
  • facebook-635028175 · 1 month ago
Good point Jenna, but, then again, if we aren't challenging obsolete hardware and software, why would anyone make anything better?
  • Dwayneearl · 1 month ago
Being an iPhone user, the commercial doesn't really appeal to me, but I do see the point. Ads like this run all the time across many markets. I doubt if there are companies who are above ads like this. The smartphone market is very competitive now. And will continue to be. All of the smartphones generally do the same thing and will continue to move closer to resembling each other. The logical thing at this point is to highlight the differences, because soon there won't be too many.

    iDon't customize. (iDont't care)

iDon't run widgets. (iDon't want disturbing widgets)

iDon't allow open development (iDon't prefer open development when there is a great app approval process somewhere else)

iDon't take pictures in the dark. (iDon't know, but actually iTook ;) a couple of good pictures in the dark & its looking good!)

iDon't have interchangeable batteries. (iDon't want a disassembled parts of my phone like the old nokia & win mobile days)

  • PhillySaxon · 1 month ago
My father's got an iPhone, but I'm considering getting either this, or the Hero. The thing is, many people do want these features. For example...

The iPhone Spotify would hugely benefit from being able to run alongside another app, like it does on Android (as would many other apps). Push notifications were a far overdue feature, though, and they are sufficient in like 80% of cases.

I'd also like a physical keyboard, as I prefer being able to feel the keys (not just with haptic feedback). But each to their own.

Yeah, both cameras are just fine, even in the dark.

Many people like customizing & widgets, although some people like a phone that Just Works(tm). So again, each to their own.

Many people prefer open development. And the "great app approval process" has been shown to be hugely flawed in the past month or so.

If you've owned an iPod/iPhone and used them very regularly for over a year, I needn't say anything more about batteries.

Aye, both phones have benefits, neither are perfect, but that's what drives competition right? I mean, it's the simultaneous app complaints that spawned the push notifications update, and cut/copy/paste, etc :)
  • developar · 1 month ago
Well, I think I can't say you are wrong, and I agree with the points you mentioned.

Although my points were more from a personal use, and yeah don;t mention the battery, but what about it? I thought G1 will be better in this point, and you know or heard how it battery don't last if you used wifi, location and most of the services !

lol @ the brainless apple fanboys trying to claim this is a bad ad. If you knew anything about marketing you'd understand that this ad was perfectly executed. You immediately associate the intro with Apple because of the fruity music and the little i in front of everything that the iphone cannot do. The final piece strikes curiosity with the consumer to hop on the net and find out what the droid is if they don't already know.

    Excellent design, excellent execution.

  • tony · 1 month ago
It is stupid to take on iPhone directly at this point. Steve Jobs loves competition and Verizon is just flaming the fires. I develop for both Android and iPhone, and there is long way to go for Android. Either every Android will look the same or everyone will customize it because it is basically a very dull interface. Let's not forget that there are new iPhones in the future. The only reason must be that Verizon is pressuring Apple to get the iPhone. Android will have a larger market share but like Microsoft it will not have a better product.
  • APPLE STINKS · 1 month ago

I don't have any problems with the iPhone. I don't have one, I never wanted one, I'm just not a huge fan of Apple. I, personally, will be getting the HtC HD2 (as I'm a huge HtC fan,) and the fact that it is just a beautiful and powerful device. The ad was meant to spark some curiousity and get people interested? Well I just saw the commercial which is why I'm even posting right now. So Verizon did their job with the marketing. It works. Doesn't matter what phone you have or prefer. Fact is, you're all here...
  • gospeed · 1 month ago
They forgot, iDon't copy/paste. I've used an iPhone for 30 days and it although it was a pleasurable experience, it seriously lacked in ways that I need. Like any device/car/soda/game/wife/husband you can't please everyone all the time. The iPhone is a great for people that want it's functions. Being tied so tightly to iTunes, killed it for me - as well as no flash, the version i used had no video and I shouldn't have to 'break my phone to get apps that I want that my mommy (Jobs) doesn't approve of. The latter is what clinched it for me, what if I WANT to shake a baby while using the NiN app. I'm willing to try a 'droid phone because I'm getting a little bored with WinMo. Since I'm considering my office to gmail corp, the timing couldn't be better.
  • Al Pal · 1 month ago
the iphone is the original and will always be better than any copycat version. If anything, it will just give apple other ideas on ways to improve the phone in future updates. the ad is a copycat version that fails in every way. you can beat the original with terrible sequels.

With all the talk and hype an ipod+crappy phone wont help the crappy coverage the I-dontwork-Phone network offers. I would love to have an I Phone but I wont hack the device which is what everyone I know that has one of the Ipods that has a phone attached does. Most people do not see a need to have to hack a device because an app is not available for it except for a hacked app that requires the device to be modded anytime you want to use a third party app. Not hating on IPhones just the crappy coverage its so called network has to offer. Stick with the IPod business or offer the phone on a network that has enough coverage.
  • Xander Crews · 1 month ago
A few of my friends have iPhones...but I own an Android phone.
    I prefer Android...and it's not even close.
I'm a Google fan...my life is tied into Gmail, Google Calendar, Picassa, etc...and Android ties into those services perfectly...not that you have to be a Google user to appreciate the Android phone...it's just extremely convenient for me.

The iPhone OS just doesn't stack up to the versatility and expandability of the Android OS.

The iPhone's hardware is what sells it. It's sharp and stylish. But the OS doesn't compare to Android.

If you want a pretty phone, maybe the iPhone is the phone for you. But if you want a phone that will actually do more than any other phone, then Android is a better buy.

And don't get me started on the cell phone plans. AT&T rapes you if you want an iPhone. The plans are too expensive. My G1 plan is $30/month less than an AT&T plan that doesn't even offer as much.

Just about every app that is available on the iPhone, is available on Android...and there are tons of apps on Android that you can't get on the iPhone.

It's funny how the iPhone commercials always list off a handful of cool apps you can use...and at the end of the commercial they say, "only, on the iPhone". Ummm....no, that's not true at all. Every app I've seen on the iPhone commercials, is available on Android. Apple has mastered the art of deception in their commercials...it's unreal how many people buy into their load of bunk...hook, line and sinker.

Verizon's 3G network blows AT&T's away. Having a kick ass android phone on their network will be huge. I'm a T-Mobile customer, and after my contract runs out, I'd consider switching to get on their network with an Android phone...that would rock.

And as far as the ad goes, I like it. Kinda edgy, kind of different...and it makes you think, "what was that about?" Which is the whole point of the ad.
  • adamnobles · 1 month ago
I have iphone and like...but it does have its short falls. with iphone jailbroken it does have some of the problems solved (shuch as 5mp pics), which just shows iphone is capable of more, just right now there is not much competition so apple doesn;t have to add those
features to sell there phones for $$$$. When they start to see market share lost they will add those features. Just like mms and gps, they had to have something to add to give people a reson to upgrade.... GO COMPETITION .... GO MOTOROLLA!!!
  • Name · 1 month ago
Pure jealousy. Too bad Motorola sucks the big one, and Verizon has to catch up to AT&T. This will not work, Apple is going to come back with something bigger and better, and Motorola will not keep up...
  • Jinh817 · 1 month ago
"Trendy Emo kids and wanna-be techies"?? wow, I wasn't aware of the criteria to be a "true techie" and not being able to use an iPhone. I love technology and sadly I have never found a perfect phone. All phones have certain things that make them good, but there is always a couple of draw backs. I currently switch between my BlackBerry and iPhone, neither one is perfect and I highly doubt Motorola will do a better job after all this is Motorola, and they don't exactly make great phones. (Now HTC and their Android phones are pretty great)
Let's say Motorola is able to make a good phone, a couple of months into it Apple will have a better phone than that and its the cycle that is technology.. My Problem with the situation is why would you try and emulate the interface of a phone your supposed to be better than, and that's with all these so called phones that were supposed to be "better" than the iPhone

This could be a cool phone & yes physically (removable battery/flash) are nice features. But what I'm seeing is something that is similar to the iPhone. To me all these touchscreen phones are nothing more than a PDA with a phone & camera feature. Storage is the most important feature to look at on these phones. Until I can store more than my I iPod (80G) then I may buy one.

How much? I saw nothing here about a price. That's something that needs to be looked at. The physical keyboard option is a good idea but are we gonna have to buy a "Droid" keyboard. Plus knowing Apple they will figure out a way for it's wireless keyboards to sync up with the iPod. Trust me, don't underestimate Apple's technology know-how.

For the record I don't like Apple at all...I'm a Linux guy. But they cover both ends with their technology hardware & software. I have to admit though I do use iTunes as my music organizer for my iPod (yes 9 sucks). Mainly b/c its easy to use & I've never had an issues with it.

All I'm trying to say is that don't count your blessings yet.

The best thing about this phone is that its backed by Verizon. Used to work for T-Mobile setting up cell sites & it was common knowledge that Verizon has invested heavily into it's network. An example is that all other cell phone providers mount 9 antennas in groups of 3 facing different directions. Look at a cell tower next time and count the antennas. Verizon mounts 12 in groups of 4. Plus the main BTS, the main computer at the base of the tower, are larger & are way more expensive & nicer.

Sorry for rambling but I hope someone at least learned something.

Finally, a recent update about the "droid with its keyboard" surfacing the web. Now it seems iphone users are shouting "is it a calculator?"

I have read several of the post on here and I being and iPhone user would have to say that I liked the commercial. Now as far as the "little emo kid phone" comment about the iPhone, I find this to be hilarious speaking that I have a personal iPhone and my company bought me one also. Not to mention my mother's company has given them to all their executives and to be honest my mom loves her iPhone more then she did her Blackberry. All in all I guess these companies are trying to tell there top executives to go out and be "little emo kids!"

Oh one last thing, I thought this was about two phones and not the Mac vs. PC "computer" commercial?

Having this kind of flame war or loyalty grandstanding for any product should make you question yourself. Neither company cares about you unless you stop paying them money.

Go outside and talk to someone today instead of twittering.

Honestly, I find the only flaw the iPhone has is no flash. Apple is very nice about replacing things that have flaws. And another thing... what about the BlackBerry Touch? I mean, that doesn't have a tangible keyboard either, so why not rip on that phone too? This crap is ridiculous though. People are WAY too into having THE BEST. Hate to break it to ya, but you'll never catch up with technology. Once you buy the best phone, they'll come out with one better.

Finally, we need competition in the mobile web market. Droid looks to be the first really great Android phone to come to market. Love the ad...
  • Richard Saling · 1 month ago
For a teaser, it got my attention. We'll have to wait and see if the phone can take the iThrone

i love this ad... i'm excited about this phone... i've always had motorola, not a fan of the iPhone so when i made the switch to smartphones i took a blackberry... i really miss the motorola UI...

    but...

Verizon? i hate Verizon... how hard are these phones going to be to unlock and use on another network?
  • ez2talk2tx · 1 month ago
Anything that mashes Apple - who has become the new Microsoft -- is a good idea to me. I know why the 3 iTouch units in my home have no microphone in them (Don't want no Vonage 'round here.). That is as they say bullsh*t!
I know why Apple wants nothing to do with Google Voice.
Innovation is great, and Apple wins big prizes. Fencing out your competitors with restrictive marketing aggreements and plain out monopolization is a loser move, that will cost Apple its crown as the 'anti-company' very soon.

HMMM i dont think verizon has heard of the word JAILBREAK cuz if they did they'd know that us the iphone users who has their phone jailbroken have every single thing that the "droid" has except a 5mp cam other than that still no competition. the only competition for the iphone is the nokia n900
  • preston · 1 month ago
thought ad was good had cliffhanger that led watchers wanting to know more i mean thats how most of us got here isnt it?
  • mjlambie · 1 month ago
If this phone is any good, this is the phone that Verizon folks have been waiting for. They also don't mention in the ad that it probably won't iDrop calls or network outage. i'll buy it just to try it, but it better not disappoint.
  • elksnot · 1 month ago
wow who cares about the ads. everyone whos ever used a mac knows its better than a pc, period!!!! and nobody is gonna care about this shit in two years and the iphone will still be the shiznat. so i mean anyone who is pissed about apple doing good work and putting in time for their items are just ignorant because they dont have the money for anything with the apple logo on it so you guys can SUCK IT!!!!!!!

Impressive device! The only thing missing is "Droid Does run Seawasp" - IMHO :)
I like the clear "designed to be better than the iphone" message.
  • Jared Andrukat · 1 month ago
Haha, you guys are such nerds...It's like xbox fanboys with Ps3 fanboys....seriously...I'm thinkin that we'll just have to wait....it's a commercial. why are we goin into "It's such a good commercial" and "It has nothin to do with the Iphone"...Commercials aren't made to be super spectacular!...well...lie....superbowl commercials are sick. haha. but anyways...everyone take a chill pill and judge when you see it in use....People are so freakin bias these days...ya know?

If it can beat the iPhone at its own game, I'm in. I've been reluctant to give up my Verizon network for AT&T's. I left AT&T three years ago because of poor coverage and dropped calls and have had no problems with Verizon.
  • john · 1 month ago
motorola? it has to suck and knowing verizon, it will be filled with os bugs. i phone 4g for verizon is the only thing that will beat the current i phone. cdma 4g i phone for verizon. that's something worth spending all that money in advertising...

I’m so happy to see Verizon bring the Motorola Droid to the marketplace. I have the LG Dare, but will take a serious look at this phone. My husband has had both AT&T and Sprint (as required by his company) and their service is sub-par at best…he is constantly dropped STILL even though they say they are adding towers all the time and we live in a major metropolitan area. I, on the other hand, can count on one hand how many times I have been dropped in the last 5 years. I am often, when traveling, the only person who has a signal in remote or less populated areas as well. But when you don’t know any different than AT&T service or Sprint, you have nothing to compare it to. Eighty seven million plus customers can’t be wrong! Way to go Verizon. Discuss more on http://www.Motorola-Droid.org a place for Droid owners.

Personally, I think anyone that uses "{product name} killer" is a small-minded half-wit. Competition is good for us all.
  • pinoytutorial · 1 month ago
We love how iPhone finally met its match, the question now is: Will Motorola Droid live-up to the expectations of its aspiring buyers? see the (october 23, 2009) update: Will Motorola Droid Phone Kill iPhone?

The ad is similar to how like one someone speaks out in a crowd and everyone just turns and looks at them like "that was so uncool to say" and yet they know deep down that they are right. The ad is right in that if 'Apple' was wearing pants they'd be 'skinny jeans'...i like the commerical
    ;/

Wow, looks pretty amazing. I love the ad. I like the iphone alot but there are things that I really hate about it. I cannot wait. I love having competitors because the phones just keep getting better and better
  • not a fanatic · 1 month ago
heh. remember when apple first released ipods? the fanatics raved about how great they were... need i remind the lot of you it never had the basics correct. it had a spinny wheel and that is it. it never had stereo.... but that's ok i paid half the price for twice the mp3 player with my old zune. oh ya. zune even had bluetooth STEREO... it just is proof fanatics are idiots who buy for brand not for quality.
  • stirlinghowland · 1 month ago
Lame. I challenge the phone companies to make something remarkable. Something to talk about that captures the imagination and inspires the consumer. I simply can't remember one point this ad made that makes you want to own this phone. Pointless.

Awful graphics at the end as well. Next!

    ATTN iPhone fans:
I want to start off by saying that the iPhone is an impressive device. I like it.
    HOWEVER....
The Android operating system is just flat out better. Android has everything the iPhone OS does and then some.
Ripping on the TV ad is stupid and pointless if you ask me.

Apple should be a bit concerned about their market share shrinking a bit since now people can get the best phone available (Android) on the best network available (Verizon). And all reports point to Android being on the verge of exploding in popularity...it's just a matter of time.

Why would ANYONE buy an iPhone over a Droid phone (or any Android phone)? Seriously. You'd be choosing a lesser device on a lesser network if you went iPhone. The only reason people would choose an iPhone now, is because they think it's a status symbol of some kind or because their friend has one. What a mistake.

Do your research before you buy...don't be swayed by a stupid Droid or iPhone commercial.
