So, you think stalking is funny? You think the need for restraining orders is funny? Would you think it was funny if I published a "Kill Ben Parr" app parody? Do you think about people who are in the circumstances you are using for "fun?"

Stalking isn't funny. Most dangerous time in an abusive relationship is when someone leaves. Why? Because then the stalking starts. (PS, 1 out of 3 women are abused in their lifetime.) Dumb ad.

I am shocked at the content of this app though not surprised. This app is a true reflection of the social standards of a country in which 1 in 3 women are physically, sexually, or emotionally violated in their lifetime by a male dating partner. Did you know that stalking increases risk for homicide in cases of intimate partner violence? And already one woman is murdered each day by her current or ex-intimate partner. I'm glad Apple is doing it's "job" to increase social support for interpersonal violence, homicide, and suicide. That's one to be proud of.

Should I tell him it's a parody (in other words, "fake"), and that "Apple" isn't really doing these things? Nah.

Re "It’s simply the most entertaining iPhone app commercial parody yet."--

Stalking isn't funny, it is a crime, it harms it's victims, where is the entertainment in that?
  • napalmnacey · 3 months ago
It's always funny until someone's actually stalked themselves.

Not funny. Disturbing. And in poor taste. Why don't you put your time to something useful, not something that says that its ok to be a stalker...

Stalking = not so funny. There's a thin line between Mac-snob irony and complete tastelessness. This one crossed it.
