    Meh...

After promising a Mac version for almost 2 years, still nothing. Oh well, Adium kicks it's ass anyway.

On Windows Digsby is full of memory leaks and the longer you run it, the slower your system becomes. This has been an issue for well over a year now.

They fixed that.. At least that's what I've found.

ping.fm does it much better considering it has an option to include it in your contact list.
  • authorityseo · 3 months ago
I find ping.fm very easy to use

Was that said in a sarcastic way to my comment?

Doesn't Cliqset let you do this via GoogleTalk?

"One little-known feature is the Cliqset Status GTalk robot. If you’ve registered your GMail email address with Cliqset, simply add cliqset.status@gmail.com as a contact in Google Talk. Anything you say to it will automagically update your Cliqset status and any other social sites you’ve wired up to receive your status updates via Cliqset!"

Yes. I update LinkedIn, Facebook, Identi.ca and Twitter via the Cliqset GTalk robot.

I have been using this version of Digsby for a week or so now. It has been available to alpha testers for a while. In addition to what is described above, it also comes with a new Buddy List UI and you can double click on your username of a social network to bring up the update status window. I have been using Digsby for quite a while now, and I feel that this new version is the best.

Yes, I agree. Just updated to the newest version too. I've been using Digsby for over a year now and I loved it from the start. And it just keeps getting better and better. I even have it docked on the side of my screen. I use it for chatting with all kinds of instant-messaging networks, e-mail notifications and for quick Twitter-updates on the go. For chatting with different networks at once, there is no better application than Digsby + lots of extra (social networking and e-mail) functionality.

I found Digsby to be intrusive. After the install process (on a VM, thank God), I was left with the impression that this product and its creators can't be trusted.
  • Erick · 3 months ago
Hey Mike, we're sorry for the bad first impression. Please know that we're working on making the install process more user friendly. Feel free to let us know if you have any problems or if there's anything else we can improve on.

I have been patiently waiting for a Mac or Linux version of digsby since I am not currently running windows on any of my machines. Are the Mac and Linux versions just vaporware like trillion for Mac?
  • Erick · 3 months ago
They are coming. We are going to be making similar upgrades to Facebook and Twitter while also working on per-character formatting and group chat (which are both long overdue). After that, will work work on getting the Mac/Linux releases out the door. Unfortunately, we don’t have an estimate on when they will launch but you know where they are on our priority list.
