The built-in URL shortener, although it's a convenient tool, only shortens to 22 characters (numerous tests from multiple pages). Other shorteners such as is.gd shorten to 17 characters and provide more room for tweeple's comments and re-tweets.

Another convenient tool on the bar is the built-in re-post/share links provided on the right hand side of the bar. Although its a great convenience, each link opens another browser or window rather than directs to an opened browser.

Would like to see the built-in shortener with enhanced "shortening" capabilities for a much more robust tool. Would also like to see the share links direct to an existing browser tab/window (or app) that is likely already open and logged in to Facebook, Twitter, email client, etc.

Great tool, super-convenient! Love to see this develop further!

Re: DiggBar: Shorten URLs and Experience Digg On Any Web Page

http://twiggit.org/ is now using the DiggBar to link to articles in your tweets!

Re: DiggBar: Shorten URLs and Experience Digg On Any Web Page

I could of make it even more short with mwd.com :) lol...

Re: DiggBar: Shorten URLs and Experience Digg On Any Web Page

Digg toolbar is a blatant rip of StumbleUpon; Digg is even using the thumbs up from Stumble.
Digg & diggers are doing a mass bury on any comments not approving of the new toolbar.

Re: DiggBar: Shorten URLs and Experience Digg On Any Web Page

Digg is rapidly using the bury function on those people that are posting comments that disapprove of this blatant ripoff of StumbleUpon.

Re: DiggBar: Shorten URLs and Experience Digg On Any Web Page

Neat idea! Love the shortening part too.

I wonder if the "random" button will convert some stumbleupon user to use digg more often ?
