With the Twitter market growing by leaps and bounds something like this was needed. I'm not surprised to see Kevin being the one to capitalize on it.

Re: Did Digg Buy Kevin Rose’s WeFollow Twitter Directory?

Kevin Rose is a bit of a jerk to be honest with you. Everyone knows these guys already have a ton of followers. Why not throw everyone else a bone instead, Kevin?

Re: Did Digg Buy Kevin Rose’s WeFollow Twitter Directory?

Weak theory. Digg can use the Twitter API to get the useful metrics straight from Twitter. There's no need to buy a middleman website for that.

Re: Did Digg Buy Kevin Rose’s WeFollow Twitter Directory?

What is it about Twitter that makes people think mid-1990s approaches to problems are viable now? WeFollow is an unmoderated directory that lets submitters create new categories on a whim. That's the LEAST intelligent approach a directory can take.

WeFollow is practically designed to become less informative as it grows. It doesn't even have a good search engine -- you can't cross-reference tags! Its traffic is dropping because it's not a good way to find anything. Buying it makes no damn sense at all.

Re: Did Digg Buy Kevin Rose’s WeFollow Twitter Directory?

Nice bit of digging, pardon the pun, to notice the change in copyright.
