Great idea! Unfortunately the process of setting up the card is "less than" user-friendly and counter intuitive. Hopefully over time that'll improve. Really love the idea!

I almost hate to comment since I am going to say pretty much the same thing others have said but I LOVE card.ly so have to show my support. I've only used it for a couple of weeks but their design options is by far the best available right now. I didn't have a personal website until the last couple of days so this was a great option for me to give people one place to learn more about me and where I'm at on the web. Looking forward to new features in the future.

While the idea is great indeed, I am not sure whether or not I am going to use it. I think owning a domain related to my personal brand and leaving all the links to my profiles there on a googleable page is efficient enough.

Interesting initiative, but I prefer telnic's .tel. It's the same price (or maybe even cheaper) and has a lot more to offer e.g. a 'go to' function within your domain (location, hobby's, whatever you like), possibility to include all contact information, keywords, etc., and findable by search engines like dottelfinder or telopedia.com (and google, yahoo, etc. of course). Telsites are a brand new development too, and really has great potential.

I wasn't so keen on the interface for theme selection. I found it hard to use and a bit jerky. Otherwise, the interface is great.

I must have missed that suggestion recently when looking through the list. I'll have a look at the widgets and see if we can add them into the profiles. It doesn't help that Google Voice isn't in my country yet...

Card.ly is wonderful and I look forward to them improving and expanding their service. I made the recommendation to them weeks ago that they add a space for Google Voice users to place their click to call flash widgets. I have one and certainly would prefer to place my button on my page than my phone number just to have it crawled. None of the services PeoplePond, Dandy.ID, or even Retaggr provide places for your GV flash widget. Then neither does Facebook or Myspace to my knowledge. As much press as GV has been getting lately, you'd think someone in the virtual business card space would be on this. Interestingly, Google doesn't even include a place for the widget on Google Profiles, so it might just really be me.

This is the best social media stumble ever. I have signed up for a free account, tied everything together in a matter of minutes, and now I can use it as an e-mail signature. So awesome. Thank you Mashable! :D

This is very cool, but the designs don't support large numbers of social identities. Meaning, I had to reduce the number of social networks to 10 as any more than that would run off of the design I chose. I tried several and got the same results.

Not that you NEED to share ALL of your networks, but it sort of seems like that's the point.

What do you think?
