Nice. That's better than most of the ones they picked.
  • rapierpen · 1 month ago
Not sure I should fess up to that one, but I will. Actually, I thought Harry Potter and the Giblet of Fire was one to be prouder of, then I learned that a Tweeter in NC had done that one about an hour before it occurred to me.

My favorite is "The English Patent" - a thriller about intellectual property.
  • Name · 1 month ago
Problem is, there are so many you are giving credit to people that are posting the movie name as the forth or fifth time. I did Pup Fiction way earlier and I am sure others did it before me. You now need the top 20 porn names created by a one letter change. Dawn of the Head, Binding Nemo, Speed Raper, Bitches of Eastwick. Rod Warrior, Magnificent Semen, 500 Gays of Summer, Homo Alone, Fill Bill, White men can't hump.Eyes Wide Slut, Good Will Cunting, Tight Club, Cum of All Queers, School of Cock. Too easy, too fun.
  • bunnyhero · 1 month ago
agreed. before highlighting any of these specific tweets, he really should have done a twitter search to find the first mention.
  • Ryan · 1 month ago
surely you can imagine that there must be thousands of tweets with this hash tag, going through hundreds of pages of tweets would have taken forever... Twitter needs to add some options to their search, like: most recent, oldest, etc.
  • bunnyhero · 1 month ago
i meant that he could have searched for the movie name :) for example:
    http://search.twitter.com/search?q=man+with+the...
only 3 pages of search results for that

i agree, though, more search options for twitter would be very useful.
  • Gnuboss · 1 month ago
Agreed, I tried this when posting my selection of favs and a few that I made up off the top of my head - but the deepest twitter would let me go for any particular item was about page 15 of search results - and I doubt that's even the first result.

20+ Clicks? Please don't fall into this shameful habit of ballooning up your pageviews, like most of the traditional news sites do. Wired used to do this, now I think they have it right. It is a crime to your readers. Really.

there are lots of funny ones out there, but most of the ones you see have already been done a zillion times already ;) do a twitter search on almost any of these and you'll see a dozen people have had the same idea before you...

It would be nice if you could just scroll through this list instead of having to click through. Slideshows are such a pain. They took so long to load, I ended up just looking at 3 of your examples,
  • Jonas Ewert · 1 month ago
Useless, uncreative and unfunny. Just as most of the very popular stuff on twitter. Please, Mashable, refrain from commenting on such irrelevant bs and concentrate on what's important.

Have to agree with others... ridiculous to have to click through 20+ times to view another image. I stopped after 3 clicks to write this comment and leave. Good luck with that.
  • Richard Clark · 1 month ago
Been having fun with this. Managed to reg the domain for it almost completely by luck, and then thought "well, I guess I'd better do something with it" so I scrambled around and put some code together to generate a top-100 list based on the number of repeats. To be honest, the most-repeated seem to be "the most obvious" rather than "the best" but it's still a good starter, and the realtime flow I added keeps new ones coming from the raw feed at a readable rate. Check it out at http://oneletteroffmovies.com/ - also, code is posted publicly at github.

What a painfully tedious way of having to scroll through the #oneletteroffmovies list. I gave up after 6. But those 6 were pretty good. Here's my contribution; O Brother Where Fart Thou and Man of 1,000 Feces (the day dysentery attacked).
