I used to cobble together a bunch of different apps (Google, Basecamp et al) to solve the collab/promo/management problems we had, but in the end having everything retained and working nicely together in a single app saves loads of time, which is the whole point.

Bandcentral gets my vote on this one.

I'm in a band of 6, we used gig donkey for a bit and checked out Pusleamp (via an invite) but to be honest they don't offer what Band central seems to?
Dunno if its a copy of Bandize or how you can know, must be the other way around surely as Bandize seem to be alpha invite only?

We use PulseAmp. It's free and pretty robust for what bands need.

Mike Murry - yes, you're absolutely right. Bands are always broke, just trying to get their music out there and don't have much money to do anything else. That's why I like www.gigdonkey.com - it's a FREE online band management site. It's easy to use and you can do many of the things that the other paid sites offer. Check it out!

Only problem is, bands are most usually broke and not willing to invest in new tires for the van, let alone a monthly fee for music collaboration.

My old roommate and I use Google Sites and DropBox for most of our music collaboration, since moving apart. It works pretty well and we share a lot of ideas. For brain storming, we'll sometimes jump into Adobe's Acrobat.com live meeting thing.

Looks good..I have actually recently been trying a few other similar services namely PulseAmp & Bandize...would be great if mashable could do a post comparing the 3 services! :)

I've been using ArtistData. I might have to take a look at this to see how it compares. Wonder if it is more robust than what ArtistData currently offers?

Looks good.. now I wish I was in a band. Although this would be good for comedians too. There's actually a lot of good applications. Tours. Plays. Speakers. Nice design.
