I would really recommend myPocketProf. This is the best note sharing/taking app for the iPhone - and Android.

All of these applications are very useful for all students, especially for highschool students who are preparing themselves to go out to college. Dictionary apps are crucial in helping them out improve their performance on research papers.

+1 on Cram. Cram also has a Mac version out that pairs with the iPhone version.

I love using "Stick It" for taking notes and creating reminders. You can put the reminders on your lockscreen so you don't have to open your phone to view them. Very clever...

Remember the days when you had to buy your (or your kids) a TI graphing calculator for $89? I do.
It wasn't something I wanted to have to buy. Spending money on a device that can do that and so much more is far less painful!

I am definitely passing this list on to my two girls who are heading into college. I'm especially optimistic that they'll use the myHomework app to keep track of their homework!
